
I just wanted to post about the things that i'm doing to try to get me to where i want to be. Although i'm always open to new things along the way :)
I do try to exercise as much as possible, or as much as my leg will allow me to until i get my surgery which will be in August i hope! I have come up with a way that allows me to exercise and still enjoy it. I pick a different body part to work on every day. It allows me to focus and know where my weaknesses are. I also still go for almost daily walks, usually at least 5 days a week for 40-60 minutes.
I try to eat as much unprocessed food as i can. I incorporate as many fruits and vegetables as i can and i also use mainly olive oil. In fact if you follow my other blog you know that my days are usually pretty colourful. I do still have the occasional frozen dinner at work but i do try to at least make it any Amy's which has a lot better ingredients than most.
I drink a lot of water, usually 8-10 cups a day. I also actually enjoy green tea now :) I have stopped using sugar and sweetners. I also enjoy a couple of glasses of wine a week, usually red but sometimes white. It is the one indulgence that i still love!
This blog!!!! That has helped me enormously. The support and great ideas that i get from fellow bloggers is unbeatable. The friendships that i've made is awesome. Thanks guys :) When i have problems or questions i know where to come to get many different answers.
I do try to be balanced in most things. I try to be open minded and if i get into a situation where i have no control over my food i just try to make the best of it.
I think the thing i've found that has helped alot is taking my own food everywhere. For example i took my almonds and an orange to a meeting this week and when i got home i had some veggies and hummus. They served pizza at the meeting and everyone is so used to me doing my own thing that they don't even ask anymore if i want any :) One day i may just shock them and say yes.
Anyway these are the main things i'm doing. Feel free to ask any questions if you'd like and i'd love to know what works best for you :)

Ditto (or sh*tto) on the importance of blogging. I severely underestimated the impact it would have on my focus and mindset. I know this wouldn't be as successful a journey for me without it.
Those are all such wonderful changes! I would love to eventually wean myself off of artificial sweeteners...one day :)
I love that you bring your own food and no one even asks you about it anymore. Just goes to show, we shouldn't care so much about what others think b/c after a while no one really pays attention anyway!

I love to blog, too. I hurry home to see what other people are up to. And I try to keep my menu and my plan simple...some would say boring...
All great changes & as for blogging ... I agree ... it makes sticking to all the changes easier because of the accountability & support.
You continue to inspire me. I'm still working on the plan that works best for me, but I do try and incorporate things I learn by reading my favorite blogs. Yours being amongst those favorites. I totally agree about blogging, it does help keep my focus. I actually feel accountable to my blogging buddies.
I think you're doing great! And it sounds as if it's sustainable for you, which is important.

Last night it was just my little daughter and me and I stopped off and got her a kids meal at Sonic--we never go out to eat so it was a big treat for her--and I had a water. A water! I knew that I had better food at home. That is one of the ways I am changing.
