Today's exercise plan

Today i'm lazy and don't really want to go out to exercise. Sooooo i'm going to get my butt on the stationary bike :) Then i'm doing today's weights which happen to be for the shoulders. Here's my plan:

The Arnold press -this is a new one for me!
Front raise -I only raise my arms until they are parallel this woman seems to be lifting them a bit high.

And then i'll think about getting ready for work. Have a great 4th of July

Suzi,
Can you (or anyone else) point me to a site where I can learn about free weights? I'm not looking to become Ms. Muscle and I have to be REALLY careful of my back and hip, so I need a weight lifting for dummies type site.
Thanks.

Oooh, the arnolds look like fun! I'm trying to build up my shoulders because of hypermobility-induced rotator cuff instability

I agree on the front raises, I think lifting higher than shoulder height would probably put unnecessary strain on your lower back! :-S

NewMe: try this site http://www.physicalfitnet.com/exercise_video_library/exercise_search.aspx you can filter by body section and also difficulty - otherwise I'd suggest looking at something like http://weighttraining.about.com/ as they seem to have a wealth of information there!!

I like the Arnold press. Fun stuff.

Front raises are cool, but definitely don't go higher than your shoulder. Don't want to hurt yourself.

Hope you have a great 4th of July weekend!

Thanks for the Arnold Press. That's new to me too and I'm going to try it today. I do a military press, but this looks even more challenging.

I do a thing called Around the world which is the Lateral raise and front raise combined. Also, my personal trainer I had last fall told me you should only raise your arms until they're parallel to the floor. I think you're right, the woman in the video is doing it wrong. :) Look at us...weight lifting authorities. :)
