  1. My mom always talks to me about having a budget, and I have tried to stick to one, but it's so hard! I'm single, and don't have a lot of debt, but I'm a teacher, so I don't have the hugest salary either! It's hard for me, b/c if I need, I need it. When else am I supposed to get it? LOL

    My answers:

    1. Do you have a budget that you go by every month?? Any tips for those of us just starting?

    2. What is your favorite, easy, homemade soup recipe? Lentil and carrot, just chuck a load of each in with bacon stock, herbs and onions and leave for an hour. Yum!

    3. Do you make sure to set aside some "me" time every week? What do you do to renew yourself? I get a bit too much "me" time these days :(

    4. Are you stressed? What do you do to try to reduce it? Yeah a lot. A long hard stompy walk often helps.

    5. If you eat meat what is your favorite? I don't really enjoy meat, but will each chicken if I feel I need to.

    6. Have you ever tried a pomegranate? Did you like it? Yeah, we used to have them as kids, they are lovely.

    7. What was the last thing you bought? Some black cotton to hem my trousers (I am short).

  3. You make me look forward to Wed. in blogland :)
and I love the picture today ... stunningly beautiful.

    1. No but I don't spend haphazardly either or overspend. I put aside savings every week automatically. And I live debt-free. My biggest piece of advice is to never live outside of your means. If you want something badly and can't afford it now ... save up for it. That's what our parents had to do before credit cards. People forget that there was a time not too far back that there wasn't such a thing as all this credit card nonsense and that people had to SAVE UP for things.
    2. if we're talking super easy ... chicken breasts, water, bouillion, celery, onion, carrot, herbes de Provence or poultry seasoning, salt & pepper. Cook till chicken falls apart and veggies are soft.
    3. I am all I've got so all my time is basically me time.
    4. I get stressed easily but it's usually self-induced stinkin' thinkin'. I have to talk to someone to snap me back in to reality.
    5. I don't eat red meat often but when I do I like a sirloin steak. But I also like stewing beef especially this time of year.
    6. Yes and no. Not worth the trouble IMO.
    7. a Flip camcorder!

    Thanks for doing this, Suzanne!

  4. Happy Wednesday!!
    1. No, I don't budget, but do watch what I'm doing.
    2. "Moron Soup" basically a cheeseburger soup, just throw all the stuff into the pot that you'd put on a cheeseburger. Simple. Not terribly healthy, but quite tasty.
    3. I have plenty of me time, so it isn't necessary to set time aside.
    4. No, I'm pretty casually wired.
    5. A good rib eye steak is a real treat. Not too much red meat these days, so that would be a once every couple of months thing.
    6. Yes....I love pomegranates!! Altho' they do create a dandy stain if you're not careful.
    7. Food Saver Vacuum Sealer. Love, love, love it!!! That's the last large item I bought. There have been various small things since.

  6. 1. Do you have a budget that you go by every month?? Any tips for those of us just starting?

Not really. I still live with my parents.

    2. What is your favorite, easy, homemade soup recipe?

I don't cook so I can't answer this one! I love all kinds of soup! And I only eat the homemade kind.

    3. Do you make sure to set aside some "me" time every week? What do you do to renew yourself?

Yep. I spend a lot of time on my own during the week. I don't have a 9 to 5 job so sometimes I just stay home and have my me time. Or I go to the gym and that's, in my opinion, me time :)

    4. Are you stressed? What do you do to try to reduce it?

Right now, a little. Just try to keep myself busy!

    5. If you eat meat what is your favorite?

My fav meat is chicken. :)

    6. Have you ever tried a pomegranate? Did you like it?

Yep! When I was little we had a pomegranate tree in our backyard (on our other house, in the south of Portugal, which we still have. and I think it was the neighbors tree eheh the branches were on our side though!) and I've eaten pomegranates straight from the tree. I love them, they're delicious.

    7. What was the last thing you bought?

    A blazer!

  7. Oooh this is fun! Here are my answers!

    1. I write out a budget every month but I don't live by it! Check out Crown Financial Ministries...they have FREE Christian budget coaches!

    2. I love to make keilbasa stew. It's SO fattening but tasty! Just four ingredients and about an hour before you get to enjoy it.

    3. I don't set aside "me" time every week but I do get a weekly girl's night out! Usually we play games at someone's house or go out for coffee or dinner.

    4. I am constantly stressed. Besides working full time...I stay stressed by raising a special needs child, being a full time wife and leading the women's ministry at church. Spending time with the Lord is the best way for me to reduce my stress, that and getting in a good workout!

    5. My favorite meat is steak. A big juicy medium rare steak. Mmmm...

    6. I LOOOOOVE pomegranates!

    7. I bought some Dove body wash and Sudafed for my Sinus/Allergy problems.

I just LOVE this idea! What a fun blog you have!

  8. EEK!!! Question Day!!! I love it!

    1. No budget per se, but I do try to watch my spending each month.

    2. It's just a basic veggie soup, with a tomato base, and spices. Very low cal, but lots of flavor. It's never the same twice, as I always change out the types of veggies, and put in different spices depending on my mood at the time. Oh, and with barley! Love Barley!

    3. I never seem to find "me" time. :(

    4. I don't think I am, but my doctor seems to think differently. I enjoy taking walks to reduce the stress, but I rarely find the time to get that done. :(

    5. BEEF! I am from Texas ya know!

    6. I did once, a long time ago. All those seed kinda weirded me out.

    7. I just did some office shopping online and just bought a cr*p load of post it notes. Seriously, did you know there were like 500 elebenty zillion different kinds of them out there?!?! I think I ordered one of every color. hehehe

  9. 1. Do you have a budget that you go by every month?? Any tips for those of us just starting?

Yes (and no - not right now with moving etc - once I get a job I'll get back to a budget) I had a budget that I followed for the last 2 years. My biggest tip is to make it resonable and do some research on what % of your income is recommended for live/savings/spending etc ("Till Debt do us part" is the most awesome show to get info and ideas), if you make the budget too tight, then you will hate it and not follow.... sound familiar? ha

    2. What is your favorite, easy, homemade soup recipe?

Homemade...from a box with the flip top. Butternut Squash is the best!

    3. Do you make sure to set aside some "me" time every week? What do you do to renew yourself?

not really - I do like to get a pdi once in a while.

    4. Are you stressed? What do you do to try to reduce it?

little - trying to find a new job is hard, but the turtle wins the race, I just have to keep moving forward.

    5. If you eat meat what is your favorite?

MEAT!!!! I LOVE MEAT!!! Salad is what food eats! haha

    6. Have you ever tried a pomegranate? Did you like it?

Just about to go and eat one now. Yum.

    7. What was the last thing you bought?

a book - Patient Zero... zombie book!!!!!

  10. Hey chick! I'm finally feeling inspired enough to participate! I've been too much of a slacker lately, but no more!

    1. No but I think I will start in November. I've been asking my friends, and they say to take a set amount of cash out for myself, and once that's gone, it's GONE. No more checks or debit purchases.

    2. My favorite soup is in this post: http://pudgebudge.blogspot.com/2009/10/didnt-ride-my-bike-in-but.html. SO EASY!

    3. "Me" time is of the utmost importance. It's not hard for me to do since I'm not married or living with someone, but even when I was, I'd take a jewelry class or I'd hit the gym BY MYSELF. Good stuff!

    4. I'm not stressed right now, but when I do get stressed, I tend to eat too much. I've started taking 10 minute walks when I feel the stress coming on.

    5. I do eat meat, and I love beef.

    6. Pomegranates rule! The seeds are a pain, so I usually swallow them. Don't eat too many though! I like pomegranates in a cup or bowl, with lime juice and a dash of salt. YUM!

    7. I bought a breakfast taco this morning! But as far as durable goods? I bought the most beautiful little amber and silver ring at the City-Wide Garage Sale this past weekend. It was only $10! And it's vintage!
