Change of plans

Well it's pouring and as you know we don't have a car so we decided instead of going out to eat we would stay in and order from the same place. Swiss Chalet.

I ended up ordering a 1/4 chicken dinner with no skin, a house salad which ended up being pretty much just iceburg lettuce :( and some frozen veggies that they'd warmed up and charged me an arm and a leg for!! Still i enjoyed it :) And i stayed within plan and now i'm going to go and watch the code.

Today

I'm going to my breathing and meditation group! It will do me a world of good :) And i will walk there unless it's pouring rain. After that i have an appointment that will take about an hour.

Then i'm going out for dinner at swiss chalet. I've already checked online and i know what i will be ordering. It all comes in under calories :) What more could i ask for!

Last night a couple of hours after dinner i started to think about what i could snack on. Then i thought about what Sean said when you've spent all your calories that's it the day's eating is finished. So i was able to talk myself out of eating and didn't have anything else. And today i feel great.

Tomorrow i'm back to work and it's a holiday, happy Canada Day fellow canadians!! Enjoy your day off.

I'm taking your advice

Yep i decided to not do a couple of things i had planned on today just to give myself some down time.

I started the day by having two fillings replaced so i came home with a frozen mouth and had this beauty for breakfast :)
Next i'm off to the dollar store to stock up on things for next weeks bingo that i've helped to plan! This is one of my favorite things to do.

Then i just might take myself to the library. I love going there and i should get myself some new books.

Went to go upstairs and what should i see?? Little ears :)

Last weeks goals and goals for this week

Here what i was trying to do this week:

1. Definitely number one is to do some weight routines, no excuses. Tuesday and Thursday i will do weight routines and i will post whether i've done them or not!!-oops forgot to post them but i did them :)

2. Back to weight watchers Monday-went to weight watchers and had a -.8 for the week

3. I really need to plan more menus-did some but not enough

4. I'm going to try to incorporate speed walking in with my regular walking-i did this a few times this week and enjoyed it. It's good when my leg isn't bothering me too much.

5. Be kinder to myself and less critical!-I feel as though i did pretty good with this and i have decided not to do a few things this week so that i don't feel in such a time crunch.

For this week:

1. Try to have a few less things to do. Really need to work on this.

2. Plan some menus i really like when i have a plan to follow.

3. Do some more weights

4. Stop trying to be perfect, it doesn't work and just stresses me out!

5. The house is pretty tidy right now try and keep it that way this week :)

On my walk...

Just got back from a nice relaxing walk :) Oh and the last photo was from last summer!

That's my mantra for today! Chillax :)

Sometimes i get way too caught up in work. I'm running around like a chicken without a head. So every now and then i stop and take a couple of deep breaths and chill. And it's not just work.

I have yet another busy week coming up. I have to go back to the dentist on monday morning, right after that back to the dollar store to pick up gifts for next weeks bingo. Then hopefully i'll have enough time to catch up with my walking group, home for dinner then on my bike to weight watchers. And that's my first day off!! I really need to stop saying yes to everything.

Tuesday i have my breathing and meditation group and another appointment in the afternoon and then hope to help with the bbq for a group of friends coming to visit.

Wednesday is a holiday here: Canada Day!! And yep i'm working :( So much for my days off.

After typing this i really do realize that i need to start saying no. I do need some time to myself. And no wonder i feel that i have no energy or time to myself.

Random thoughts!

I have to go to the grocery store :) I'm very low on fruits and veggies right now so i see a trip to the store in my future today before going to work!

At least it's not as humid this morning. Even the cat seems to be just chilling.

Hubby's off for a 5k walk today, which i unfortunately have to miss because of work. Oh well i have some time off coming soon :)

And i had a great brekkie this morning, totally filled me up: Blueberry yogurt parfait with walnuts and a whole wheat bagel and sf jam :)














Oh and i really really need to get the house cleaned up before my daughter visits from Holland!

Better so far :)

Today i'm feeling much better! I honestly don't know what it has been lately. I usually like the heat so i'm almost wondering if it was coffee because i very rarely drink it and yesterday i grabbed one on the way to my meetings.

So my plan today is to drink water slowly all day long (although i do usually get 8 cups in i tend to drink 2-3 cups at a time) and relax before i have to go to work. Eating is fine today and even though i ate more calories yesterday than i usually do it didn't lead to a binge and i feel fine about what i chose.

What a day!!


Today started off fine, even if i did have to wake up early to go to two meetings.

Got home and it was lunch time but it's very hot here and i don't have A/C so instead of what i had planned i had a bowl of high fibre cereal with strawberries and blueberries :) No problem same points as what i had planned.

All afternoon for some reason i've been feeling nauseous and a little dizzy. No idea why, so i've been laying on the couch with the fans on me and a half a gravol to get rid of the sick feeling.
Anyway it's time for dinner and i had planned on some smoked sausage with some roast potatoes and baked beans, except the the #^*@ potatoes are rotten!!!!! So what's a girl to do who really doesn't feel like doing anything anyway??? Order chinese :) And hopefully tomorrow will be better than today.

I'm back!!

Well i survived the board dinner :)

The dinner ended up being chicken kiev, spanish rice, brocolli with a cheese sauce and sorbet for dessert.

So what did i have?? I ended up having 3/4 of the chicken and small amount of the rice (maybe 2 tbsp) and the brocolli scraping off as much of the sauce, then i asked for more brocolli without sauce :) I skipped the dessert and enjoy the wine! So all in all a great evening.

Another week bites the dust

This is what was waiting for me as soon as i got home :)

And i lost -.8 this week bringing me to 133.4!! I'm edging ever closer.

I'm home for now :)

But i'm leaving again for the ww's meeting soon and yep i'll post my loss (hopefully) tonight :)

Anyway went to the dentist and she only needs to replace part of two old fillings! Other than that it's 3 years without a cavity. The only weird thing was they have these high tech scanners and x-rays and all kinds of stuff and she turns and says to me that i have the biggest sinuses that's she's ever seen!!! The assistant says the same thing. Well they don't bother me so whatever.

So far today i've biked to and from the dentist, i've done push ups and for the very first time i did push ups in the pike position! Go me

Today's plan...

I'm off to the dentist this morning again this time for a cleaning and for them to let me know when i need to go back to replace some old fillings. Have i said i can't stand dentists :(

Then it's time for my walking group this week!! I may be there a little late because of the dentist but i'll get there.

And later weigh in time at weight watchers. Holding my breath on that one :) ha ha
It should be fine but my body has a way of doing the opposite than what it's supposed to.

So that's 2 days in a row of exercising, oh and yesterday i not only did a 50 minute power walk i also did leg exercises :)

Today will be the walking group and i plan on doing some chest exercises!

My walk...

Well i just got back from my 50 minute intermittent power walk :) Yep i'm sweating a storm and i dodged all the mosquitos!!

I love the yellow flower, when i was young we always played who likes butter and if you put it under your chin and it showed yellow on your chin you liked butter! Guess who always liked butter???

Weekly goal update...

Okay it's that time of the week again, here goes.

Last weeks goals:

1. Go to weight watchers Monday night! - Yeppers i sucked it up like a big girl and i had a loss :)

2. Mail two parcels i have ready for people. - Indeed i did!!!

3. Do weights preferably 2x again this week. - Fail :(

4. Plan more days menus. I'm a little behind on this and i like to know in advance what i'm doing! - Yep i did i need to do more but it was a start

5. For this week i'm not going to weigh myself until next Monday. (this is huge for me :) -Yes i'm holding my breath until tomorrow morning!

Back to work

Yep i'm feeling a bit better today :) Thank goodness, so it's back to work. I think maybe i just needed a day of rest!

This morning i tried something new: Chocolate/banana/walnut protein pancakes they were awesome.
1/2c oats-ground up in bullet
1/2 tsp baking powder
banana
1 tsp cocoa
2 egg whites
sweetner to taste

sf maple syrup and walnuts to top it off.

After grinding the oats i took them out and processed the banana and egg whites.

Now i have to go pack up two parcels, one to holland and one to paraguay!! Hope everyone has a great weekend.

This and that!

First of all i'm home sick today :( Was feeling sick at work last night and couldn't find anyone to cover my shift! So today i'm vegetating. Here's a couple of random thoughts:

Has anyone else seen the pictures of peoples oatmeal with spinach and veggies in it, so they have bright green oatmeal? Ewwww and how about the one with the egg on top?? Whatever, honestly i feel nauseaus even looking at them :)

Why do i take pictures of my meals? I must admit i still don't mind taking pictures of my food. I honestly find it keeps me accountable and i'm sure i make their presentation better than if i wasn't taking pictures. Does anyone else do this??

How is the not weighing myself going?? I haven't done it yet but the force is strong and i don't know how much longer i can hold on captain :)

A new way of looking at things

This week i have learned a few new things about myself. I have to be absolutely truthful and say i really didn't want to go out to eat with my hubby as i was sure i'd cave in and eat a billion calories. Au contraire i did have to take time to look at the menu and i was able to find one healthy thing on it besides a house salad. This has given me the confidence to go out to eat again soon!! And i'm telling you it was hard to find anything healthy on that menu. They even had butter glazed steak.

On Tuesday i have another big hurdle coming up. It's an annual board meeting, with a set plate dinner. They always have the same, chicken cordon bleu, roast potatoes, veggies, salad with the dressing already on and some yummy desserts. So my plan is to eat ask if i can have a salad with dressing on the side, 1/2 the chicken, the veggies, maybe a baby potatoe or two and no dessert!! We'll see how it goes.

And i do have to say that i'm enjoying the food i'm eating :) The raspberries i ate today were so fresh and sweet! And so much healthier than sugar. I just need to keep the momentum going.
And today?? Back to working at the donut shop!

I did it :)

I managed to go out to eat. Feel really good with what i ate and did not leave over stuffed!! The only problem was that the dish i wanted they had none left :( So i perused the menu for quite a while and came up with the best thing.

Greek salad with watermelon and dressing on the side which i didn't even use. And the chicken was very tasty but lucky if it was 2 or 3 oz. Just the right amount. So i ended up guessing 5 pts and i couldn't finish it because it was huge.

And as promised here it is: The before and how much was leftover after :) And the bonus is that there was not bread or bun!

Today's plan...

Today i have my breathing and meditation class, then i'm coming home and going out to eat with the hubby :) We very rarely go out to eat so this will be a nice treat for us.

However i decided to look up on line the nutritional values of the place we're going to! Thankfully i found a site that even had the weight watcher points for their food! And holy guacamole, 40 points for one of their burger meals!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And i've only got 20 points/ day allowance from weight watchers, that is just insane. And a lot of their meals were in the 20-30 point range. But i did manage to find some seafood meals that were lower so i do plan on ordering that or i'll go to the chinese buffet again because it was actually easy to fill up on lots of veggies and seafood there! Weight watchers meeting....

The biking tonight went a lot smoother! Thank goodness :)

And what was the topic for tonight???? Breakfast, ha ha ha!! Like i'd ever miss eating that and i told her about my pumpkin pie french toast and she wants the recipe.

Now as you may have guessed since i haven't updated my weight on here in a while i had gained some weight back, which is why i'm going back to weight watchers. I was back up to 136 Oh well life happens. So tonight i'm down 1.8 bringing me to 134.2 :) This time i will get to my goal!!!
And nope i'm not looking at the scale until next Monday.

Wow what a nice day for a walk!








Guess what i'm doing before i go out??

Relaxing!! What better way than to sit outside and enjoy the sunshine :) I live in a townhouse with a concrete patio and no grass, however it's amazing what a few flowers, some tomato plants and nice furniture can do :) And i've just planted them so give them some time and some water and they'll fill in nicely.
