Back to work today....

Yes it's back to work today :(  but not before i went on a walk and picked up some more groceries!!

The weather is supposed to be really nice this weekend, i just hope it stays with us until Monday when i'm not working and having our easter dinner. And yes my easter cream egg is still waiting to be devoured!

Last night i really wanted to eat, eat, eat. I managed to not eat but boy i really wanted to. So what did i do? Made a nice cup of tea and drank some water. It might not work all the time but last night it did the job.

What do you do to stop yourself from overeating??

And yes that's an old photo but i love the colours. Right now everything is so gray still :(

Hmm...what do I do to keep myself from overeating. Personally, I have very little self control once I have started eating. So...I try to stay away from things like brownies...you know?!?!?!

It's not always successful, but the water really helps a lot most of the time. If I've eaten what I feel is a sufficient amount of food (now, no cheating here...this isn't to help with starvation) and I still feel hungry for no good reason, I drink as much water and diet peach snapple as I need to until I feel full. May not be the healthiest way in the world, but truthfully, I don't see anything too wrong with it!

Water and tea are always good. Sometimes I break out the chewing gum...I'll chomp away on that!

The most important thing I'll do is stop and ask myself if I'm TRULY hungry. I was feeling sort of munchy today, stopped and wondered if I was hungry, and the answer was YES. So I had some almonds...that helped. More water.

That being said, I have also wanted to eat and was NOT hungry. So I just told myself "No, you want to eat for some other reason." And just made myself NOT eat.

Sometimes the only thing I have to do to stop myself from overeating is simply NOT EATING. No distraction from the feeling, just dealing with it.

So I guess what I "do" falls under the umbrella of self-talk.

The new thing I'm telling myself is "You know how you want to eat right now? That's your body working on dropping the next pound." Lately, that stops the Craving Demon right in its tracks!

I drink lots of tea, and I also try not to have anything in the house that might tempt me, which does get a bit awkward if I have unexpected guests.lol.

I grab an apple. Seems counterintuitive, but it fills me up and stops me.

We woke up to ... snow. Nature is playing Fools on us, I guess. :D

Hope Monday is nice for you. I drink hot tea with milk at night, gives me a bit of protein to fight off the hunger. Sometimes I'll drink a whole pot or a pot of decaf coffee.

I took a bath in the wee hours of the morning, so I wouldn't eat before breakfast.

Thomas did just come home with Easter candy and I had some jelly beans and one mini-snickers square. There was a time I'd sit and eat over half of my son's candy.

The only thing I can do to not eat is to completely leave the situation and get involved in something else in another room. My weak will power cannot be trusted!

Gum usually helped me avoid eating, and hot tea did the trick a lot of times.

Honestly, if it were at night, sometimes I just went to bed!!

Hope you have a great weekend.

I try and find something else to get my mind off of eating. My blog seems to help. It keeps my mind and my hands busy and I get past wanting to eat. If I don't I will get a jello or an apple. Happy Easter...

Great job beating the urge to eat. I hate when I have days like that.

have you ever tried journaling when you want to overeat? usually there is an emotion underlying that urge.
