Enough is enough!!

I've turned this blog into a fluff blog! It's time to get down to business. I feel like a toy train going round and round in circles. Time to stop or i'll always be where i am now and no further ahead.

First of all let's look at my exercise! Sure i get out several days a week for a walk, but what kind of walk do i do?? A stroll! So my plan is to exercise at least 4 times a week, 2 days for speed and 2 days of weights. Now i'm still going to go out on my strolls because i love taking pictures but i also need to get some  hard work in there. I've decided it's back to my walking group on Mondays and i'm going to do 20 indoor laps which will be 5k. Since i'm in a 5k walking race at the end of September it will be good practice and i'll know what time i should be trying to do.

Second, food! Enough of good one day not so good the next. Time to do what i know i need to do unless i want to stay the same. So i'm going back to counting points because i know that works for me. I'm going to be honest and count every lick and bite that goes in my mouth.

Water I'm actually doing well with. I've been drinking 8 cups of water every day for quite a few weeks now.

I'm also going to reward myself! I would like some new running shoes, a garmin and some clothes just to start the list :)

So to start this plan i went on a walk for speed today. Wow what usually takes me 50-55 minutes took me 42.38. And i have no doubt that i can improve on that!! Here i am in my sweaty glory :)

I'm on my 5th cup of water and since i'm sweating all over i'm probably going to get a couple more cups in before lunch :)
Food has been bang on and i will post it on my other blog later.

Sorry for rambling but i really need to get with the program! Anyone else with me???

Not rambling at all! It sounds like you mean business! Wahoo, you!

In fact, you've inspired me. I'm going to tackle my exercise DVDs (I would truly rather be beaten with a stick than do these!) because of this post. :D

I, too, take strolls. But, you know, that's way more walking than I used to do. Three months I did NO strolls. Now I stroll 2 or 3 miles a day, (I average 66 minutes for a 3K.)

The truth is that I really am not interested in speed at all. I do it for the movement and the stress relief. I refuse to turn my newfound walks into yet another source of stress!

BUT I recognize that I'm really not working out. So, Suzi, thanks to you--out comes the dreaded DVDs. I'm even going to edit my challenge goals. groan.

I'll thank you when the scale moves downward.

Onward and forward, girlfriend!

For freedom!

Yay for you and your walking... sounds like a great plan. I think keeping track of what you eat is a great idea. It helps me be accountable and realize all that I eat. Have a SUPER day!!

Sounds like you and I got the bug..the bug to 'get it in gear and just do it already.' You are a step ahead of me though....thanks for the further inspiration.

I believe I feel a little shock of inspiration. Thanks, Suzi, I needed a little kick in the butt!

Some days I stroll, some days I challenge myself. I try to get in 6 days of walking. The weights I need to work on. And the food, well, MOST days are within my plan. But I can do better...
