"hugs"

I've been reading some posts lately where people are having a really hard time at this time of year! Please don't give up or put yourself down.

Even in blog land i find every other post seems to be recipes for cookies!! Oh boy, for some of us that is just something that is very hard for us. Seeing foods like that over and over gives us triggers to want to eat sugar.

If you do eat sugar or other junk food or even just too much of any food please don't let that make you feel bad about yourself.

Stop and think about why you're on this journey and remember that this Christmas season will be gone soon. This is why weight loss clinics etc are so busy in the new year. A lot of people over eat during Christmas and then are trying to find a quick fix.

Do things that will help you get back on track. Drink more water, go for walk, stay busy, find healthy snacks that you enjoy, stay away from sugar. Before you know it Christmas will be over and you'll already be on your road to being health.

Now i'm off to get ready for work! Have a great day

Great reminder. I'm a little worried about Christmas at my parents' house but I'm going to do the best I can.
No worries, right?

You're 100% right. I need to bake some cookies and i'll probably end up eating some if I don't give them away fast enough. So what? Life goes on. I love cookies.

Thanks for the great post Suzi, everything you said is all so true. If we can just hang in there soon we won't be faced with so much temptation.

I've seen a lot of posts about that lately too.. I've spent the last week looking for healthier treats recipes, and found several good ones (most are Hungry Girl). I'm usually baking and candy-making as soon as December hits, but not this year. I figure no one I know really needs all that sugar anyway, so no reason to put temptation in such close reach. I'll be making SOME of my grandma's traditional treats, but they'll be small batches for Christmas Eve only. I'm being proactive with my temptations this year! LOL!

I agree with every word! I took my son to a little playland today and had pizza and regular coke, but I've already got the ingredients out to make a healthy dinner!

Suzi,
I really like this post today! I made a pot of homemade chicken soup and pumpkin bread for tomorrow so the hub wont have to cook.

you nailed it.
in a way for me it is all about the NO MATTER WHAT WE DO---NOT BEATING OURSELVES UP OVER IT.

most important piece of the season.

life is too too short.

Suzi, amen and hallalujah! I also want to add that you may want to be mindful of your perception of what you have eaten possibly being worse than it is. I have navigated three Christmas parties over the past week, and I honestly thought I blew it at every single one of them with how I ate. I apparently am seeing things through a dirty prism, because I weighed in today and have lost 8 more pounds. Reflecting back, I guess I didn't eat as bad or as much as I thought I did!

I know, I'm getting a little sick of all the cookie recipes. People just can't use Christmas as an excuse to overindulge. It's still.

I agree with Karla: Cookies = evil.
