Weekly goal update...

Last weeks goals:

1. I'm going back to 3 meals a day. Snacking all day is just revving up my binge eating. I've got to do what i know works for me.-I did this and i'm actually feeling stronger eating this way!  Too many snacks seem to trigger my binge eating

2. I really need to be upping my exercise and i need to be enjoying my exercise. By that i don't mean doing easy stuff but doing what i know i love to do.-I've absolutely LOVED my exercise this week. Could i have done more? Possibly, but i'm quite happy with what i did do :)

3. I really need to make sure i'm drinking enough water-I have had at least 8 cups of water a day and usually 2 cups of green tea

4. As much as i'd love to be able to eat foods with sugar moderately i just can't. So this week i'm going to stay away from sugar.-I did and i do feel better because of it

5. I'm going to focus on getting back to basics this week and hopefully that will give me the kick start i need.-It has given me exactly what i wanted.

So last week i get an A+++++ it was one terrific week!!

This weeks goals:

1. I've been planning two days meals at a time and i like to plan a weeks in advance.

2. Pick up the weights.  I will also be doing zumba with my group this week!

3. Meet up with my walking group on Monday. Take a walk in the park on the way :)

4. Tidy the house. (new couch is coming on Tuesday and it would be nice if the house looked good)

5. Stay strong with a smile!!

My winter wonderland

Indeed it was a winter wonderland this morning :) I bundled up and off i went into the woods. The hardest part was going for about 20 minutes up to my knees in snow that no one had walked on before! But i did it and now i'm home a warm sweaty mess. An hour out in that weather makes you very grateful to get inside. Notice in the before picture i look nice and warm and kind of smug. After: not so much. Hope you enjoy the pic's from my walk. Oh and Snuffy says good morning :)

Another great walk!!

Yes i decided to get a nice cold walk in before i had to go to work today :) And to tell you the truth any great walk starts with a great brekkie. Today's brekkie was oatmeal banana pancakes with warm berry sauce!! Oh my goodness is all i have to say while wiping sauce off of my chin :)
I have to tell you that today's walk was one of the hardest i've had for a while. Combine heavy boots, knee high drifts and the cold and i had one of the best workouts ever :)

Today will be a great day!!

Indeed it will because i said so :) Sometimes good days are helped along by the decisions we make! Even if it is that time of the month and i'm 48 and wake up with 2 big pimples on my face!! I know overload of information. Oh well at least it shows i'm not perfect.

To help me have a great day i decided that i need to be eating a few more veggies. So first thing today i cooked up some orange peppers, red onions, baby spinach and added that to some scrambled eggs and finally i topped it with some romano cheese petals! Can we say yummers :)

For lunch i'm having some roast veggies including broccoli, cauliflower, onion, cherry tomatoes and once again i'm going to put a little cheese on top. And just so i don't forget my fruits i'm going to have some kiwi and banana.

Dinner won't be near as interesting as i'm working and honestly i'm taking a frozen sweet and sour chicken dinner to work! However, since i've eaten awesome the rest of the day i'm still only eating 50% of the maximum sodium so all is well in my world and i won't wake up looking bloated :)

As far as exercise goes i'm going to do some yoga before i head into work. Hope you, my blog friends, are having a great day too!!

I did something that definitely makes me happy!!

I went for a wonderful walk in the snow :) Beautiful snow, crunching beneath my feet and my mp3 in my ear makes me a very happy camper!! Pictures are below.

And before i went on a walk the door bell rang and i had a parcel. Some products to try from Nature's Path!! I'm definitely looking forward to trying these. That's if i can beat my husband to it :)

Oh and i made another wreath. It was supposed to be for valentines but i think it will work for Christmas. I may even put it on a table with a big round candle in the middle on the coffee table for a Christmas decoration!

I feel good :)

And i knew that i would!!

Yep i'm singing because honestly it feels like spring is almost here....back up, it felt like spring yesterday before it snowed today :) Right now we've had a big dump of snow and i'm not going out anywhere! Oh well it put an extra spring in my step for a few hours!

Anyway today was an awesome day. I went to an afternoon bingo i'd helped to plan and boy oh boy it was a lot of fun. There's nothing quite like a room full of people shouting B.I.N.G.O

On my way home i stopped at the dollar store to pick up a few things, and since it's one of my all time favorite places i took my time looking up and down the aisles for bargains! Plus i needed some supplies for a craft afternoon this month. I won't mention that a bus never came for me and i waited in blowing snow for 35 minutes till the next one :(

One thing i am proud of is that i didn't touch any of the cookies that were available. Actually i'm the one that brought them and for me to not have even a taste is a win/win in my book :)

Weekly goal update

1. To push myself a little further with exercise-No didn't do

2. Keep drinking the green tea-I did but not consistently

3. Need to tidy up the kitchen, it gets messy when i'm really busy!-I did this :)

4. I tend to eat a lot of my food earlier in the day which doesn't always bother me, but i'd like to spread it out a little more-Actually my eating got way out of hand this week!!
5. Practice my planks-I did once which was not what i had in mind!

This week:

Just made it :)

I realized at the last moment that i had a Dr's appointment with my specialist. The one that put the stents in!! Managed to hop on a bus and get there just in time. The appointment took 10 minutes and he is very happy with my progress. Have to go see him in another 6 months :)

Glad i woke up earlier than usual today. Now to get my lunch and dinner ready and then off to work! Have a great day.

Back to normal!!

Or whatever normal is :)  Today i'm off to the bank to get money to grab some groceries, it will be good to get some fresh stuff in the fridge!!

I honestly didn't realize how much that two day course was stressing me. On day two i had a major headache and honestly i can't remember the last time i had a headache.

So today i'm back to my "normal" work schedule and i'll actually be glad to be back to my regular schedule!! I work today and Saturday and then i have 4 days off. Of course i'm going to be busy as usual on my days off but at least i won't be stressed.

Sunday off to Wal Mart for a few supplies,
Monday i will be busy with an afternoon bingo i've helped to plan.
Tuesday i'm going to be getting my photo taken for the board of directors which should be good for a laugh since i'm trying to grow out my hair and honestly when i wake up in the morning and my hair is standing on end the hubs just can't stop laughing at me. So getting a formal picture taken is going to be good for a laugh!!
Wednesday off to the YMCA to play racquetball with the weekly group i meet with.
And then Thursday i'm back to work again :)
All in all a normal week for me.

My plan for the rest of this week is to do some sort of exercise every day, drink my water and eat as much fresh food as i can!!

Question Day Again!!

I need to press re-set!!

One thing i have always had a hard time with is doing anything in moderation!! I'm either journaling everything and staying on plan, or i've thrown that out of the window and i eat everything without worry.

I have just spent 2 days where i had no control over what what i was served for breakfast, snacks and lunch. And i ended up getting home at dinner time and throwing together whatever i could find. In other words i had a total food fest.

Now how do i find the re-set button??

One of the things i do know is that when i eat simple carbs, sugar, white flour etc. I just crave more and more and can't seem to get enough.

And that is exactly what has happened to me this week.

Now i need to find some strength to stop what i am doing and start doing what i know i should be doing!

One of the things that has happened lately is that i have been going to the gym. Going to the gym for me involves at least 3 hours if not more. I have to take two buses there and two buses back as well as being there for at least an hour. More and more i'm craving just grabbing my coat and going for an hours walk. Or maybe just grabbing my dumbbells and doing a workout in my kitchen. Even though i know i work out harder at the gym is it actually worth it???

I really need to figure out exactly what works for me. I have a lot to think about. Any imput from you my blog friends would be appreciated.

And just so you know, if i keep getting these anonymous comments which are trying to sell something or direct you somewhere else i will go to moderating comments! It will just take a little longer for your comments to show but at least we won't be getting any of those annoying ones anymore.

End of the first day of advanced food safety two day course! My brain has so many names and numbers and i'm supposed to study tonight but i think i'll give my brain a break and just go to bed.

Look what i made today :)

I went out for lunch to an all you can eat chinese buffet!! And i had more than i had planned on but i'm perfectly fine with that.

Got home and started to think about what i wanted on our front door for the spring! Which i hope is coming soon. So i gathered a few supplies and this is what i came up with:

Oh and i guess i was in the mood for new things. I decided to come up with a different pancake this morning. I made lemon poppyseed pancakes which were awesome.

I also ordered some new spices from Epicure and i got them this week. First was a grinder with sea salt, garlic and herbs which is absolutely awesome! I also ordered a beef and steak seasoning. But the best thing i ordered was a spice called poudre douce which is described as "A delicate 14th century French blend, sprinkle on fruit, baking, breakfast foods and desserts". It smells divine.

I won some of Annie's fruit snacks as well and i just have to say they are awesome!! Hope i can find some more here soon :) Thank's Danica.

Weekly goal update...

Last weeks goals:

1. Get out for at least 2 walks-Mission accomplished and i loved every minute of them :)

2. I have a really busy week this week so i'd like to make sure i take some me time!!-The hubby has helped me by running to the grocery store when i need things! I did make sure i took time for me

3. Go to the spinning class on Thursday-I did

4. Get the little extra exercises in. Walk a little more, do a few push ups/sit ups etc-I did but not with intention i really would like to get to the point where i push myself a little more

5. Drink more green tea-drank at least 2 cups/day

My walk today....

It was cold but oh so beautiful and i was walking with a big smile on my face because i was enjoying it oh so much :) I even got to see buds on some plants!!

Today i tried spinning!!

And boy oh boy did it kick my butt :) I have found out that spinning/bicycling is not my cup of tea!!

However, i did do it for a while and then i went to the weight room and did some awesome things with the dumbbells and the weight machines. And to top it off i went on the treadmill and really worked out hard :)
I'm pretty sure i stunk pretty bad today!!

Before i went to the Y i also made some other healthy decisions today:

I went to two meetings this morning and my plan was to go to a local coffee house to catch up on the net till i had to meet the hubs to go to the YMCA.

I was coming out of the meetings and i had several thoughts about what i was going to do!

First was hop on the bus to the coffee shop. It's so easy to wait for the bus and the weather was not very nice.

Second was "It's only a 15 minute walk and if i do that i'm more likely to feel better and see results on the scale". Because to me it's the little things you do that add up :)

Then i thought "oh but the bus would be easier".

I decided that if i put my mp3 on i would enjoy the walk even if it was snowing. And yes i did!!

I love how little decisions can add up to making my day so much better.

To start the day on the right foot i had an awesome breakfast that was an experiment to try new things!! And wowsa's was it ever good :) I had leftover steel cut oats, banana, peanut butter, maple flakes, cocoa nibs.
A few more calories than i usually have BUT i'm going to a spinning class today for the first time and that's some great fuel to keep my energy up.

All in all a great day today. Now i'm going to go relax.

It's been way too long!!

Yep, it's been way to long since i visited the park and took pic's!! That's the one thing i miss by going to the YMCA. The last picture is me looking totally evil in a coffee shop after the ultrasound :)

Oh guess what i found today?? I found a new health food store that has absolutely everything i could ever want. Today i grabbed some cocoa nibs, some nutritional yeast, some maple flakes and some red quinoa :) Experiments will be happening!

On my travels today!

These are some of my favorite buildings. I also picked up some cute bowls and some artificial flowers (have to have fake as the cat eats real ones). And here's me rushing to get the bus!

Oh and look what Kashi sent me! I'm going to have to try this:

Tomorrow is going to be just about as crazy as today :)
First i have to fast and take two buses to the specialist for an ultrasound. They are checking my stents to make sure they are where they should be and doing what they're supposed to!

I'm taking my breakfast with me because i want to go walk through the park where i haven't been in ages. After that i think i'll stop and get a coffee at my favorite place, then it's off to a craft afternoon that i help to plan/run!!

After that?? I'm going home to stay in for the night!!

Wednesday?? Well i have two meetings and then it will be off to the YMCA for spinning class :) And that folks will be my last day off this week.
