I caught it!!

The cleaning bug that is :) Sorry a little humor there!

The funny thing is that i very rarely get the cleaning bug but today I really cleaned up the kitchen including the floor, i cleaned the living room as well as the front hall closet AND i cleaned the bathroom floor!! Ralph couldn't quite figure out what was wrong with me :)

I managed to go for a walk before i picked up groceries. Tomorrow is Canada Day and all the stores will be closed. Besides where i work that is, and yes i'm working. The good new is that i work Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday and then i'm on vacation time!!

Good news, bad news

The good new is that i went to the Dentist today for a 6 month check up and for the 4th year i've got no new cavities :) I love that for sure!!

The bad new is that my blogging mojo is lacking :( I have no idea why but blogging is not coming to me as easy as it usually does. Anyone else have this problem. I usually have lots to blog about, now i really can't think of anything to write.

Take today for instance. It's a day off of work so i walked to the dentist and back and then decided to totally clean up my living room, including taking apart the front hall closet!! It looks awesome. Only problem is that all i wanted to do after was go for a nap :)

So if my posts are majorly lacking don't fret i'm still looking for my mojo and i won't give up easily.

And back to regular posting!!

Today started out with a meeting, of course i got off of the bus early in order to get a bit of a walk in :)

After the meeting i managed to get a nice walk in at the park and meet Jen for a coffee(o.k it was an unsweetened iced green tea).

Then it was off home to get ready to go to the mall for some shopping therapy. Now i've got some fish and chips in the oven and then i'm going to put my feet up and relax.

Tomorrow?? Dentist :(
And here is the rock i've sat on quite a few times to eat my lunch and socialize with the ducks :)

Weekly goal update

It has not been one of my finest weeks!

Last weeks goals:
1. I'm going out to an  annual dinner,  and i'll try not to get stressed and just pick the healthiest choices without worry. Actually i think i handled it easily :)
2. Continue my walking and see how many days i do it this week.Mmmmm only got a couple of walks in
3. Sit down and take time to plan my menu's, i love when i know what i have to take out of the freezer etc.This is probably what helped my week go downhill. I failed to plan therefore i planned to fail :(
4. Do my eyebrows Ha this i actually did :)

This weeks goals:
1. Plan, plan, plan. Exercise, meals etc
2. Get on on more walks=see above :)
3. Drink my water
4. Paint my toenails!

Something new!!

I can't believe i still find foods/food combos that i've never tried before!!

This morning i had a whole wheat english muffin(didn't have bagels), cream cheese and smoked fresh salmon.! It's was absolutely awesome especially with a side of fresh fruit :) Must do this again.

What else out there am i missing out on???

Is there something that you would love to try but haven't yet?? Or something that you've tried that you think i should try??

I'm in a great mood today, why?? I'm working with my favorite staff tonight and because after work today i only have 4 more shifts till my holidays :) And i've booked no meetings with anyone during those 3 weeks!! I'm smiling just thinking about it.

What exciting thing am i doing today????

Grocery shopping!! Oh and work :)

That's o.k i've only got 5 more shifts after today until my holiday time! And believe you me it can't come quick enough.. And the funny thing is that i'm not going anywhere. I'm taking time to de-clutter/clean the apartment/house and doing things like spending an afternoon in Chapter's, going out for a nice meal(or a few) with the hubs. Maybe meeting Jen for sushi. All the things i love to do!

Now that's my idea of enjoying my time off. O.k maybe not the cleaning/de-cluttering part, but the rest sounds like fun.

Enough of that, now i'm off to do the grocery shopping, if only i could find my list :)

Routine is not always boring!!

I really need to get back into a routine!! I find having a regular routine is so much easier for me than doing things when i can.

For instance if i wake up at the same time everyday it becomes such a habit that i wake up automatically and i have energy to get going. When i start to sleep in all i want to do every morning is go back to sleep :(

As far as eating goes, i do a lot better with having a regular breakfast, lunch and dinner and maybe a snack than if i eat small things all day.

It's the same with my house routine. If i get up and do my daily's then i find i have the rest of the day to do as i wish and i'm perfectly happy. However, if i don't get them done straight away i find i put them off until they don't get done :(

Exercise is the same. If i know i'm going to exercise from 10-11 am then i just do it. If i'm thinking i will go out on a walk sometime today, it's more than likely it just won't happen.

Not that spontaneity is bad, sometimes it's great. For me though having a routine works best. Now i've just got to get back into it.

I'm going grocery shopping in the morning so i know i can back into routine as far as eating goes. Now i just need to work on the rest of my routines.

I have 6 shifts at work left and then i'm on holiday and believe you me i need them this year :) And maybe it will give me time to get my routines back into my day!!

A review coming!!

I'm so happy to have been asked to review another CSN store product. Over 200 stores and hundreds of thousands of things to choose from!! From dining room tables to every cookware you can imagine wanting and for children?? Everything you want including toys for kids :) They make it very easy to purchase and the delivery is above and beyond what other company's offer. Their customer service is very approachable and you will be sure to appreciate their customer care.

So what am i reviewing this time?? Well i'm in a desperate state for a new everyday dish set. The one i found that i really like is this one:
The very kind people at CSN stores offered me gift certificate towards it!! And finally i'll actually have a set of matching dishes :) Not to mention how good my food will look on them.

I know i have a couple of reviews to do and since i'll have nearly 3 weeks off of work i'll finally have time to do them!

Just another day!

If you get a chance check out Jen's post on making homemade pasta!! She and Martin did an excellent job! Actually Martin i think you could have a new career! Now i guess i'm going to have to try to make it soon, or invite myself over the next time they make it :)

Jen would love to have you stop by for a visit :) She is awesome at trying things that i'm too chicken to do.

Today it's back to work, tomorrow my last day at the health and safety course, and then back to work the next day! Wow it should be illegal to have so much fun.

Out for dinner!

Today is the day for an awesome evening with friends!! Well a actually a lot of friends and it's fun.

I took these pictures to show you how long my hair is getting. (yes Jen, i borrowed your flower) little did i realize there were spots on the mirror :)

I managed to eat light for the rest of the day so that i knew i had enough calories etc. leftover to totally enjoy my dinner :)

Love it when the hubs and i get dressed up and go out. We really need to do that more often.

Update: Just back from dinner. Before dinner they announced that anyone who wanted a special dietary meal should just ask for it. Sooooo i asked for a grilled chicken breast and a mess of green beans, i did drink wine and i did have dessert which was a really good ice cream :) All in all i had a blast !!

A brand new Monday!!

I know, i know. Everyone hates Monday's because it's back to work. However, for me it's part of my weekend. It's also a chance for everyone to look back on last week and see if they need to change/tweek anything. It's a brand new week :) A new start, a week to accomplish many things.

Can you tell i'm Miss Positivity today??? lol

O.k enough of that sappiness. Not too much going on today. Some cleaning, some vegging, some exercise and Jen maybe dropping by later to sort more of her stuff. Yes we're still working on that and i think if she comes once a week we'll be doing it for quite a while yet :) Oh and the highlight?? Ralph's barbecuing steak.

Of course i went for a walk as well. And some kind soul left a packet of peanuts on a bench if i wanted them :)
I really should have taken a photo after my long walk because my face was the reddest ever!!

Todays walk!

I'm sure you guys must get bored with my walking pictures!! Today i went for an 80 minute walk.

What did i see??? Hills, hills and then more hills!!!

Update on last weeks goals and a few new ones

These were last weeks goals:
1. Drink 8 cups of water every day this week.-I drank at least 8 cups every day this week!
2. Journal what i eat and post it on here!-I have journaled my food every day.
3. Get out and walk at least 4 days this week.-I have exercised every day this week and not because i had to but because i truly enjoyed it.
4. Celebrate every little success i have :)-That i have :)

I find keeping track on my weekly goals really does help me. They are short term and i usually make sure that they are do-able.

Another one bites the dust!!

Walk that is :)

Yep got off the computer chair long enough to go for a 60 minute walk. It was not as enjoyable as it usually is because 1/4 of the way it started to rain and i was of two minds about whether to go home or continue. However, since i was already wet i decided to keep going. It is hot and very humid and we're supposed to get thunderstorms today. By the time i got home sweat was dripping from my nose, upper lip and god knows where else :) Sound like i'm complaining?? Not me i love the heat but the rain can stay away anytime!

Tried a new brekkie this morning: whole wheat english muffin, egg substitute, light laughing cow, tomato, lettuce and turkey bacon mmmmm.................. is all i have to say.
