Today is for biking, friends and soup!

Today started with a new recipe for whole wheat waffles with blueberries! Didn't puff up the way i like them :( Oh well better next time i hope!

After that i got my sore butt back on the bike for a ride before lunch. Actually after the first 5-10 minutes the butt didn't feel too bad. We biked for an hour. Oh and how come no-one told me that biking can be a dangerous mission???? No i'm not talking cars or pedestrians, how but the squirrels/chipmunks/birds that i almost ran over today not to mention the butterfly that flew into my face :)

Oh how do you like my new glasses?? And no i don't have more hair on one side it's just the angle i'm on.

After lunch (which is another huge caesar salad) we're meeting with a friend for coffee and catching up!

And today...a nice walk!

Yes after sleeping in a bit, i got up and made a nice brekkie! Honestly a good brekkie sets me up for a great day :)

I just realized that my thinking is really changing. I was reading a blog post yesterday about some baked kettle chips that worked out to 2 pts a serving for approximately 20 chips. Wow i thought thats a pretty good serving size and 2 points i can fit that into my daily points. Well i would probably have to take something off of my daily plan but i could fit it in. And i left my thoughts at that.
Later on i was going to put those chips on my grocery list and i suddenly thought to myself "you know what that might be pretty good for 2 points but they're carbs which i know spikes my cravings like mad and if they did that what do you want to bet i'd end up eating the whole bag". If i were to bet that i would i think i'd win the bet. So the thought of putting on my grocery list was tossed out the window. Hey maybe i'm finally getting it :)

The other change i've found is that when i have my meal made and i'm starting to eat it i eat the veggies and the protein first. Now that is huge for me. Breakfast for instance i ate the eggs and laughing cow and the turkey bacon and didn't even think about touching the toast until later. And the toast being on sprouted bread really doesn't give me those carb cravings :)

Last night while eating my caesar salad and steak i just dove into that salad and loved every bite. I did eat the steak but just a bit at a time because i really wanted that salad. And i actually left my glass of wine until after dinner so i could sip it while watching a movie.

Work and fun!

Started this morning by getting up at the crack of dawn which after working last night is not that fun!

The one good thing about it is that i was off at 2 this afternoon, which left time to go for a bike ride :)

Let me introduce you to Betty, well it's not Betty anymore because it was too big for me so it's Ralph's now and i'm pretty sure he doesn't want to call it Betty :) I was really hoping to be able to ride Betty, but alas it was not to be.

So now i'm riding Fred who is just too gosh darn cute for words! It has a wonderfully cushioned seat (although i probably won't be saying that in a couple of days) and is sleek and fast.

So after work the hubs decides it would be a great time to go on a ride and i wanted to pick up some supplies at the Bulk Barn so off we went. It took us 20 minutes there and 20 minutes back and i loved every minute of it!
I see more rides in my future, that is if i can sit down again :)

As far as eating today has gone i started the day with a whole wheat bagel, cashew butter, apricot jam and sliced banana. Yummo, especially since i was only half awake.

And tonight i'm having a bbq'd steak, a huge caesar salad and a glass of red wine! Back again tomorrow.

Nothing new

Nothing new going on here today which is actually a very good thing.

Got up, got some cardio in before brekkie which was banana french toast using sprouted bread and sf syrup. It hit the spot :)

Then off to the grocery store to pick up a few fresh veggies.

Did some crunches and squats. Then it was lunch time.

Oh did i say that i got my new bike today?? Betty is her name and she's sweet. Unfortunately i won't be going out on her till Sunday but i'll definitely take a picture of her then :)

Now i'm off to get ready for work! Fun, fun, fun.

Rain will not stop me :)

Back to work tomorrow, so i figured i'd better get off of my butt today and doing something.

Just as i was about to go on my walk in the woods it started to rain, luckily 5 minutes later it stopped and off i went. Half way around my 1 hour trek it rained again and i thought i could just take a short cut and that would be o.k. But then i thought no!! I'm out here now just do it. And i did :) And not just did i also decided to climb the hill that i walk past about 5 minutes from the end of my walk. I am now pooped.

All in all a great day today. I really enjoyed the food i ate, i drank my water and i drank green tea. Tomorrow it's back to slinging donuts and coffee.

Waiting, waiting...

Yesterday while i was on my walk i missed a delivery. They're supposed to be delivering it again today. So i'm waiting :)

Update i ended up waiting most of the day and the delivery that came wasn't what i thought it was!

So i got to sit with my netbook and watch Snuffy catch flies, the hubby snoring and i had a great time.

I have found lately that i love big caesar salads. I chop 4-5 cups of romaine lettuce, add light parmesan cheese, add a few (measured) bacon crumbles, add 1-2 tbsp of light caesar salad dressing, a good squirt of lemon juice and shake in a big container with a lid. Made one for the hubby tonight and he loved it. And no i didn't need any croutons.
To go with the caeser salad tonight i made manwiches with skinless boneless chicken breast instead of ground beef. It was definitely a hit with the hubby.

I'm back

I definitely needed last week off to take time to properly deal with some issues.  However i'm back now!

On friday i'm finally getting a bike :) Hope to be going on a ride with the hubs soon after.(i work on the weekend)

Today i went on a walk through the woods and snapped some pic's along the way. I also picked up some weights to do a few exercises for strength. And today i will be snapping pic's of my food again. I actually missed that :)

This week we managed to buy a new computer chair for $15 to replace the one that crumbled underneath me, we also managed to pick up a new microwave for $39 dollars so i can melt a tbsp of peanut butter whenever i want :) I really missed that. I don't "cook" in it much but i do defrost and warm up small amounts of food. Never realized how much i like using it until i didn't have one.
Did i tell you one day how i put milk, cocoa and sweetener in a cup to warm up in the micro and then realized my microwave had been broken for a week and i'd forgotten? Too funny!

A former next door neighbour dropped off some rhubarb for me :) I just have to clean and freeze it!

Can this week get any worse??

I went for a nice long walk today. It's been awhile and honestly the best way for me to de-stress is to walk.

I get home and check my mail and lo and behold the new company that took over our complex put an eviction notice in my mailbox!!! We have lived here for 10 years and never been late with our rent. We are subsidized because the hubs is on disability. Somehow the wires got crossed between the landlord and subsidized housing and they thought we owed the difference. Well i don't want to tell you what i was saying in my head!!

Oh and on my walk some nasty bug flew in my eye! Ouch :( At least it wasn't mosquito's biting my butt.

Right now i'm just going to catch up on computer stuff and think positive thoughts.

Some sad news

We received some very bad news tonight. Ralph is one of 14 kids and the next youngest one from him was killed in a motorcycle accident tonight.

Please keep Ralph and his family in your thoughts and prayers tonight.

Weekly weigh in and goal update

This has been a much better week, i've made good choices and i'm listening to my body more! I'm truly feeling on top of the world :)

As far as my weigh in goes this week i've lost my gain from last week and believe you me when i say gain i mean big (9lbs and probably mostly water) and dropped another -.4 for a total of -9.4 for the week!!

Here's the goals i made for last week:

1. Track everything-I did even little bits of something went into my journal
2. Aim for working out 3 days this week-This is the one thing that i didn't accomplish but i'm o.k with that.
3. Stay completely away from foods that i know are triggers-I have done well with this and i've been listening to how my body feels after certain foods. It's been very interesting.
4. Do what i know is best for me-This made me smile because honestly this has been one of the best weeks for knowing what to do.
5. Just do the best i can :)-I did and i must say that i'm very happy!

Here's this weeks goals:

1. Continue to track everything
2. Keep listening to my body because it knows what will work best for me
3. Up my exercise this week
4. Take the time to enjoy every positive step that i make
5. Work on striving to feel at peace with myself
