Question day once again!!

5. What are your thoughts on weighing in? A short while ago I weighed myself everyday which was driving me crazy. Now I'm thinking I might just weigh myself on the first of every month! What do you do?? Does the scale drive you crazy?

    Maybe a challenge to see how many days in a row we can walk for half an hour.

    Only about 10 ounces so far.

    I weigh in every day. Some people can't handle that and get obsessed with it. I like to know where I am every day so I can make a adjustments when I need to.

  2. 1. YES! Favorite would have to be grilled amberjack with lump crabmeat sauce. :) Love crabs and fish. I like shrimp too but I'm allergic to it. Doesn't always stop me. I just bring a Benadryl with me. :D

    2. Hmm..how about a planks challenge? Or eat clean? No processed foods for 1 day? Cook something new and post a picture and recipe on blog? 15 minutes of exercise each day? Say something positive about yourself each day? Out loud. To your reflection in the mirror.

    3. Not really. It wasn't anything super special. I gave the kids some chocolate and we all went our for Chinese food because I had a coupon. LOL

    4. Oops. None unless you count the water in my coffee. But I have a water bottle right beside me that I just filled up so I'm about to hit it.

    5. The scale drives me nuts. Daily weigh ins will make you pull your hair out! Weekly is still not much fun. I think monthly is a great idea. I've been lifting weights and I've read in more than one place that if you lift weights you should check your progress by measurements and how your clothes fit instead of the scale because it does not reflect the changes in body composition that are happening. As a matter of fact, the scale can often go up for a while.
    Trivia: did you know that when Arnold Schwarzenegger was at his prime he was considered obese by his BMI? BMI and the scale is not always the best indicator of health.

    2. recipe challenge? Eating clean for a day? Trying dairy free for a day?

    3. My husband and I both worked late, so it was me and my cats :) We don't really celebrate it, so I didn't miss a thing :)

    4. None. Heh...time for a glass.

    5. I've stopped weighing in except for once amonth because it was driving me buggy. I'd let the numbers and the odd up or down due to life get to me and it was too much. So this month is the first month I just weigh myself once a month. I'm hoping it is enough to keep me in check without going buggy. Sometimes we give a little number too much power...

    Valentine's Day was like any other day.

    2 glasses.

    The scale has driven me crazy in the past. I cannot weigh everyday, nor do I think it shows the true picture. I would like to get to weighing once a month, but now it's once a week.

  6. 1)Yes! Probably shrimp or Lobster.

    2)Go a week or day of clean eating only. No processed. (if you haven't done that one yet)

    3)Yes. We cooked dinner at home and our treat was a small fruit fondue :)

    4)None..I haven't been awake long...

    5)Yes the scale drives me crazy! I only weigh once a week, and that day it is, what it is!

  7. 1. I love all seafood, but soft shell crab has to be my all time favorite. I think it's because it's hard to come by for me.

    2. I'm not much of a challenge person. My motivation can only come from myself.

    3. I have whatever I like on Valentine's Day. I just workout extra to make up for it.

    5. I used to weigh in daily without issue, but lately it's been affecting me so I've been staying off. I will only step back on when I'm emotionally ready again.

    Yes. I don't really like shrimp, though. My favorite is crab cakes, but as for fresher seafood, I prefer crab legs, scallops and most white fish.

    Try a new veggie every day. I also like the suggestion another person made to eat clean for a week.

    3. How did you deal with Valentines day?? Did you pre-plan it??

    We didn't pre-plan anything but to be together. We ended up going out to dinner and exchanging gifts.

    Starbucks Caramel Fraps have water in them, right? haha None. Bad.

    I love to weigh myself but I've noticed lately I am actually just inconvenienced by it so I haven't weighed myself in over a week. I feel like the less pressure there is to weigh a certain number, the better.

  9. 1.I don't really like seafood, but I do love shrimp. I am trying to eat fish 2x a week though. Tilapia and Cod aren't that bad.

    2. Didn't know you were doing a weekly challenge. Is it to late to join?

    3.We did have V-Day pre-planned, and then at the last minutes those plans changed.

    4.I've only had about 10 oz. of water so far. Yeah, I know!

    5. I can get obsessed by the scale, at one point I was weighing myself 3-4 times a day. I broke through that mental battle and now I weigh in anywhere from once a day to a few times a week to once every few weeks. Having no set time to step on that thing takes the pressure off a little.

    1. Yes, I like King Crab, lobster, shrimp. Hard to say which would be my favorite out of the three...maybe King crab.
    2. Not right now, because you cover so many.
    3. Valentines day was great, the sweets were no so great. I did not pre plan for my granddaughter to bring me chocolates.
    4. I think I have had about 3 glasses so far. I need to kick it up and drank some more.
    5. My husband and I weigh on the Wii fitness every Saturday, same time. I DONT like getting on the bath room scales every day. I would hate it if I had a talking scale....can hear it now...
    Get off me, ouch, your stepping on me!

    2. I like exercise challenges. Not really a suggestions I know more of a comment.

    3. I didn't but got incredibly spoiled by hubby how did have plans ;)

    4. Not nearly enough!

    5. Well I used to weigh everyday but I was getting a tad obsessed with it so I cut back to twice a week, this is the first week of that routine and it seems to be better. But the scale drives me nuts no matter what anyway. I guess it is just a necessary evil.

  12. 1. Yes, especially since it is so low in calories. My favorite is salmon, which is a little higher, but also crab!

    2. Hmm... to up your cardio by a few mins every day?

    3. I am happily single right now and watched Sex and the City 2 and ate healthy :)

    4. About 64.. still have some more to go. I'm drinking so much now!

    5. I tend to weigh in daily just because I'm curious. I know I probably shouldn't because if I have a gain or not much of a loss, I get disappointed. But I record my weight every Sunday.

    Yes. My absolute favorite is swordfish, but that is not something I eat now because of sustainability issues. I do love walleye, too.

    Yes: a week without caffeine; a week cooking or making food; a week eating at a table; a week eating more plants, less meat; a week of finding ten new weight loss bloggers to support; a week trying a different kind of exercise.

    3. How did you deal with Valentines day?? Did you pre-plan it??
    Not much to plan. We went out for ice cream. I did not plan them...

    4. How much water have you drank so far today?
    I drank about 24 oz.

    I try to weigh in only every two weeks. I cheat though sometimes. It drives me crazy if I weight every day, too.

    Spend a week walking with a purpose...stand up straight, hold your abs in, shoulders back and your head held high. Like you were royalty!! Walk with pride, everywhere you go no matter what you are doing!!
    really be conscience about it. After a week it just may become a habit!

    3. How did you deal with Valentines day?? Did you pre-plan it??
    Not really. Went out to eat but only ate half of it. But had a really bad dessert that we shared. Didn't stress about it too much. We don't get out too often so the spluge was deserved!!

    4. How much water have you drank so far today?
    8 cups. This is the end of my day.

    5. What are your thoughts on weighing in?
    I like to do it every day 1st thing in the morning. I'm too stressed not knowing how I'm doing.

    Yes, I love shellfish best. probably langoustines or crab

    A week cooking everything you eat form raw ingredients. Will take some planning and organizing but I bet it will be very satisfying!

    I didn't plan anything as hubby doesn't like Valentine's day but he ended up cooking me a surprise dinner! Yum!

    About a litre and a half

    I weight in for myself on a Saturday morning and for work's Biggest Loser challenge on a Thursday morning. Twice a week is enough for me! :)
