The storm has arrived and here is what the Lord of the manor is doing :)

1. Do you keep track of your sodium consumption??

2. What is the one thing your grateful for today??

3. What have you done just for you this week?

4. Have you planned for a healthy week this week? Care to share? (I love the saying fail to plan, plan to fail)

5. Do you ever use flax seed or chia seeds? What do you put them in?

Hope you have a safe healthy day!

Suz, glad to see that my house is not the only house that is maintained solely for the benefit of the animals!

as for the questions:

1. Do you keep track of your sodium consumption??

I do not but mostly because i eat the same things pretty regular and I drink tons of water all day, so I am pretty confident that my sodium levels are not through the roof. I don't salt my food either so there is that too.

2. What is the one thing your grateful for today??

that I bought a treadmill last year. it has been so key in keeping me on track and active since this winter has been crazy cold! being from the south, I am not equipped for this.

3. What have you done just for you this week?

hmmm that is a good question. I did sleep in some today since I knew school and work was called off.

4. Have you planned for a healthy week this week? Care to share? (I love the saying fail to plan, plan to fail)

I have. I have committed to getting back to cardio twice a day, and I decided that I was more comfortable with my 1500 calories a day plan than the 1800 I was trying to do before. I do allow myself a little flexibility to go 100 calories above the 1500, but find that I now am more often than not right at 1500 no matter what.

5. Do you ever use flax seed or chia seeds? What do you put them in?

I have not but they are both pretty new to me, and I don't even know what I should use them in.

have a great day Suz!!

1. Sodium? Nope, not really. Not at all actually

2. Grateful? Friends who listen and give good advice

3. For me? Umm....not much yet. Guess I need to come up with something!!

4. Plan healthy? Shopped for groceries with the hubby and planned healthy meals together, as he has decided to jump on the wagon too.

5. Flax seed? Bought them once and sprinkled them into a smoothie, then let them sit on the shelf too long. I guess I need to revisit this and try some new things. Any suggestions?

1. I don't really track sodium as it is normally fine when I don't eat processed foods. My BP is also quite good.

2. I am so grateful that I work from home on blizzard day.

3. I made up my list of goals for the month.

4. I have planned as far as I do plan, anyway. We have good healthy foods in the house, and I have plans to make some chalak pole this week.

5. I use flax meal in 1-minute muffins. Yum!

Sodium? Don't calculate but I watch it carefully and keep it lower than 1,000/day if I can.
Grateful? for heat! winderwonderland here!
Just for me? Hmmm, read my book. Awesome book by Lynn Austin.
Planned for a healthy week? Yes, taking it a day at a time.
Flax/Chia seeds? I use ground flax as an egg replacer as well as instead of bread crumbs whereever - keeps food gluten-free for me and healthier for all of us!
Enjoy the snow!

1. Do you keep track of your sodium consumption?? I do not.

2. What is the one thing your grateful for today?? A Warm House

3. What have you done just for you this week? I splurged and bought baby greens for my own consumption.

4. Have you planned for a healthy week this week? Care to share? (I love the saying fail to plan, plan to fail) I am doing my best to have as little pasta as possible along with my vegan lifestyle. Just slowing down on pasta.

5. Do you ever use flax seed or chia seeds? What do you put them in? I use flax meal as a replacement for egg (sometimes) and the kiddos and Hubby use flax seed in their shakes that they make.

LOL, Lord of the Manor. Lucky Snuffy.

1. No, I don't keep track of my sodium, but I do think about it.

2. No snow.

3. Blog.

4. If I don't plan, my chances of failing rise, so yes, I must plan.

5. Flax and Chia - in porridge. Cobbs also makes a great Chia bread that I just tried.

A safe and healthy day to you too, Suzi.

1. Yes. We've cut back on sodium a lot and lately I've made a point of checking labels to keep sodium down. It's amazing how much is in things, and how different things taste without it.

2. The delicious pineapple I had for breakfast in my cottage cheese :) That and the fact that our rediculous cold snap seems to be lifting. FINALLY.

3. Took a cookbook out of the library and read through it wiht a cup of tea, scheming what I'll make on my day off :)

4. Yes. We've planned out our healthy lunches and breakfasts for the week, and my workouts are written int omy schedule with pen :) Supper is a bit more sketchy, but we jsut went shopping for lots of tasty healthy food, so we're all stocked up. :)

5. I've got ground flax that I put in smoothies and in my muffins and oatmeal sometimes. I can't find chia seeds where I'm at and I don't like the chewiness of whole seeds, but the ground flax is great. A researcher I work with at the university has done a few dietary studies showing a number of health benefits for ground flax in your diet, so I'm all up for adding it when I can. :)

3. Just for me, erm... reading regularly again:)

4.Yes I have the W's this week, Walk, Wii and Water.

5. Sprinkled on cereal or porridge.

Thanks Suzi:)

2. I am grateful for my health and my hubby of 18 years.

3. I went and got a pedicure getting ready for my cruise and it was wonderful.

4. I have all my meals planned out on my frig so I know my points ahead of time.

5. No I do not use either of them.

Have a great day.

I scrupulously check the sodium content of everything I eat. If it's beyond a reasonable amount, I won't eat it. I also add little to no salt to my cooking; neither does my husband (he's a great cook, BTW).

2. I'm grateful to look out my window at this gorgeous, snowy day.

3. Done for just me? Gone to pottery class, read a good book, done yoga.

4. I don't plan every minute of my week. Most of my habits are relatively healthy, though I do have to get to bed earlier...my one big downfall.

5. Flax in cereal, though my husband remembers more often than I do.

1. Not really, but I don't think I consume too much.

2.I am grateful it is a snow day and I can spend time with the BF.

3. Reading and I am going to do more tonight.

4. Running tomorrow and yoga on Friday!

5. I haven't tried chia yet, but I put flax in everything!

The killer for me is the sodium. I'm addicted and trying to cut it out slowly. I've got high bloodpressure so I really need to keep it under control. Cheers, RIck
