1. When you look out of one of your windows what do you see today? I see my kids' school (conveniently right next door)and no more snow on the ground!
2. When you look in a mirror what positive things do you see? I just took photos of myself this morning in my exercise bra and workout shorts (a la Biggest Loser). It's not perfect, but it could be worse! (My midriff makes its internet debut today - a big step for me!)
3. Have you ever gone to bed just so you'd stop eating? No, I don't think I've ever done that. (But sometimes I've set a cut-off time before I go to bed.)
4. Do you use sweeteners? Stevia (Truvia) or occasionally real sugar. I try to avoid aspartame, although it's tricky!
5. What percentage do you think food and exercise play in losing weight? For weight loss and maintenance: 80-90% food and 10-20% exercise. (I was training for a marathon recently...3 hours of running only burned about half a pound's worth of calories - so unfair!) Yet, exercise is crucial to the success of the whole plan...

Fog and trees that have little, teeny-tiny green buds on them that are just waiting to BURST open.
2. When you look in a mirror what positive things do you see? I've lost 40 lbs. I see bones starting to show. I see confidence starting to come back. I see the clay that I'm molding into the healthier me.

YES!

Yep. Truvia. Sometimes regular sugar...if I run out of Truvia...but only a teeny bit.

30%. I think 70% is mental. Your mind chooses what to eat and/or how much to exercise. If you're having a "blah" day...that mind can sometimes hinder both eating and exercising goals. You have to WANT it mentally in order to achieve it physically.

3. Have you ever gone to bed just so you'd stop eating? UH, YES !! Does a nap in the afternoon count too ?
4. Do you use sweeteners?? I use agave and stevia.

5. What percentage do you think food and exercise play in losing weight?? 85% food and 15% exercise (I almost said 25% exercise and then realized that didn't add up to 100%!)

2. I like my eyes, especially when I'm wearing makeup. And starting to notice changes to my body too, which is super positive.
3. Yes, at least a few times. Sometimes I like to take a nap when I feel the urge to binge.
4. Yes, I use agave syrup/nectar to sweeten my breakfast greek yogurt/oatmeal or tea.
5. I honestly believe that food and exercise combined are only half of the way to success. The other half for me is a complete change in mindset, believing in yourself and motivation.

4. Do you use sweeteners?? I use tiny amounts of real sugar and even smaller amounts of Splenda on occasion. Have cut WAY down on the Splenda.

2. When you look in a mirror what positive things do you see? I see a good mom staring back at me with an out-of-the-ordinary good hair day going on.
3. Have you ever gone to bed just so you'd stop eating? - Oh my heck, yes. Many times.
4. Do you use sweeteners?? If I'm going to sweeten something, I use real sugar or honey. I don't touch aspartame in any form. I have to read the label of EVERYTHING to avoid it.
5. What percentage do you think food and exercise play in losing weight?? I think food and exercise play about 10% in the weigh loss game. The other 90% is all mental.

1. Slightly overcast, but slowly clearing Spring day.

5. 75% food and 25% exercise. I found out after surgery that what I ate had a big impact on maintaining/losing weight while I recuperated.
