Meetings and errands!

Started my day with some more protein waffles, why?? because i lurve them :) Oh and i added some fresh raspberry sauce! Unfortunately it was still dark when i woke up :(

Then it was off to catch a bus, i did manage to get off it early so i could walk part way.

Can't say the meetings were fun but hey i did what i needed to do. I also took some healthy nibbles along.

Got back on the bus home and once again got off early again! On my way home i managed to stop at the grocery store so that i could pick up some fresh fish for tonight. Omega 3's here i come.

How is the no salt going?? I'm doing o.k so far! Yes there is salt in some of  foods/sauces i have but i'm not adding any to cooking or on my plate.

I'm working on computer stuff and then back to work i go! We have a new star and if you look closely it's Snuffy :)

Yep there was one very nasty customer last night, but all the great ones more than made up for him :) Hope tonight goes as well.

Today started with oatmeal, banana, egg white and peanut butter, who wouldn't like that? And yes i'm drinking my water. I get at least 9 cups in every day! Now i normally drink plain old tap water but i was having a hard time drinking it so i have been using a bit of crystal light lately. Right now i'll use whatever i need to, to get the job done :)

How are  you doing with the fruits and veggies?? Today i've planned to have a couple of bananas, some orange juice, 2 clementines, apple...uh oh they're all fruit. Normally i do have lots of veggies too so i'm not at all worried about it!

Tomorrow i'll make a post so that you can officially let me know how you did this week.

Grocery shopping and work...

I've decided to keep doing the eating with no distractions! Not easy but it really does help me to focus. So i got up this morning and had a nice brekkie at the table.

After that  i got ready to go grocery shopping. List, check, purse, check, mp3, check :)

By the time i got home it was time to jump into the shower and get ready for work, but not before i had lunch!

That's how my exciting day is going. I really hope customers are nice tonight.

Question day once again!!

3. My daughter always amazes me in that she can buy a pint of ben and jerry's ice cream and simply take a spoonful now and then when she remembers she has it! She may not have any for a couple of weeks and then will go back and have another spoonful! Me?? I'd eat the whole thing. It's the same with chocolate i've seen my daughter have a bit then forget about it until the chocolate is no longer edible!! I swear she's an alien :) So which side of the fence are you on?? Are you all or nothing? Can you enjoy just a spoonful of things??

Today's plan.... and a give away!!

Started today by planning some meals! This always works for me. I'm definitely someone who does better when i know what i'm going to eat in advance.

So with the fruit and vegetable theme this week i started today with some blueberry protein waffles with blueberry sauce and a sprinkle of flax seed on top :) Yep, it hit the spot and filled me up.

Next i caught up on some blog reading and i'm trying to get the courage to go out on a verrrrrrrry verrrrrrry cold walk. (Update i did go out even if i did have to dress like an eskimo :)

Yesterday i bought a couple of ready made salads that my local grocery store makes. Now some may think this is very lazy or whatever, but for me i'm more likely to eat salads if all i have to do is grab a bowl and throw some ready made salad in. Some days i just don't want to be bothered having to put it together myself!

So for lunch today i had a salad with mixed greens and veggies, prosciutto, blue cheese and strawberries with a drizzle of light raspberry dressing on top :) Yummo

Dinner tonight was some chicken, stuffing, gravy, cranberries and carrots. Altogether i've completed day 1 of 5 fruit and veggies :)

Anyway Sterling Publishing Co of NY asked if i'd like to read and review their New Sonama  Diet book. Well i did tell them i don't do "diets" but i do try to eat as healthy as possible. And i love how the book promotes power foods of blueberries, almonds, beans, peppers, broccoli, citrus fruits, grapes, olive oil, spinach, strawberries, tomatoes and whole grains!! Oh and since Sonoma is wine country they encourage wine in moderation :) So i told them that i'm always looking for more information on how to eat healthy and that i'd love to read the book.

Well they not only said great, but they sent two copies one for me and one for you!! So  for anyone who joins us in this weeks challenge at the end of the week i'll make a random draw from our names and gladly send you a copy of the book. Good luck! It doesn't matter how successful or not with the challenge you are, all names will go in the draw.

Another great day! With no sweeteners :)

Today is my day to go sweetener free for the challenge. Let's start at the beginning ! Coffee with a packet of raw sugar, and my brekkie. No sweeteners there, although i can say i missed it in my coffee :(

Followed by a long very cold walk!

Home for lunch, including dessert. Made with frozen banana's and whey protein. Then we're meeting with friends for coffee, again no sweetener!

Tonights dinner? Weight watchers shepherds pie and a glass of wine (didn't have any yesterday so i chose today instead) For the rest of the night i'm drinking water! So one day no sweeteners has been accomplished.

I'm in love.............

I made this to go with my lunch today and i have to say it's one of the best desserts i've had for a while! Even Ralph loves it :)

Banana Soft Serve ala suzanne: This made enough for Ralph and I

2 bananas sliced and frozen
A drizzle of almond breeze
Today i put a little coconut extract in. I would have put a little coconut oil but i've run out :(
1/2 serving of plain whey protein powder
And a few cocao nibs on top!

That's it! Couldn't be simpler. The frozen bananas should be out of the freezer for 10 minutes just so they're not as hard.
Put the bananas in a food processor. Stop every now and then and scrape down the sides. If you need to drizzle just a little bit of almond breeze or milk. Keep going, keep going. When it's just about the consistency of ice cream i added the bit of extract and the protein powder. Serve with cocao nibs if you have them or chocolate chips if that's your thing :)

A very nice day!!

My sweetener free day is going to be tomorrow! Wish me good luck because this is going to be hard.

I started today with an awesome chocolate/peanut butter/banana protein pancake with some sugar free syrup!
Absolutely delish!

This afternoon i went to a games afternoon where i volunteer for people with mental health issues! So much fun. There were cookies and muffins and candy canes, and all i had all afternoon was a few bottles of water :) Well that and the food i took with me.

Before i went out i put a pork roast in the slow cooker so dinner was pretty much ready when i got home.

Exercise for today?? Well i got off the bus early on the way to the meeting and got a ride part way home to i could get some more time in! Ended up walking 55 minutes.

Thanks CSN!!

I have had nothing but great experiences with CSN, they have everything from modern dining room furniture to toys, cookware, baby items, rugs, tv stands as well as stuff for the pet! Over 200 stores!!

They are always fast and courteous and anytime i've had to contact them they have replied very quickly. I have never had any issues with packaging or shipping, in fact you can track your package online so you know when it will get there.

CSN has generously given me another chance to review a product for my blog :)

I'm so excited :)

And i just can't hide it!!

Just kidding but i am really happy that i finally made some protein waffles that worked :) I had almost given up trying :(

I'll share the recipe in case anyone want to try it they look brown because i used whole wheat flour and lots of cinnamon. See Lori i'm a good student.

3 Tbsp whole wheat flour
30g soy protein
1/3 cup of almond breeze
1 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp vanilla extract
3 tbsp egg whites
i put 1 tsp of olive oil in because most of the time i don't get enough

I did end up putting a drizzle more of almond breeze in because it was too thick, but look at the results it even made two of them :)
My legs were feeling really heavy yesterday so today i'm giving them a break from walking, instead i'm making them do squats i'm also doing push ups and some crunches.

What works for me and somethings that i like

Lately what has been working for me is to eat 3 meals no snacks. I've been trying to eat as clean as i can.
I don't do low carb because i have issues with my kidneys (one's just about dead and the other has a bit of damage) but i do watch my carbs. I definitely try to not eat too many because they cause me to have hunger issues and cravings.

I've been drinking at least 9 cups of water everyday.

I exercise at least 5 days a week. Usually i go for walks but also some squats, pushups and crunches.

I'm trying to stay as stress free as possible.

New baking pans that don't need non-stick spray
