Back to work today!

I really can't afford to take time off this week so I'm going to go to work for as long as I can.

I'm so glad that my brain is in a good place right now! I know that sounds weird but when I woke up this morning Ralph wanted me to help him with something. Breakfast?? No problem it can wait. What, who said that :) And I waited an hour I then totally enjoyed my breakfast and a coffee!

This morning I brought a favourite brekkie back! Banana split made with greek yogurt and sf chocolate sauce, strawberries, yogurt with protein mixed in and some flax seed :) I wanted to have some Lovegrown granola to put on but it`s not here yet!  For some extra protein I had some eggs with salsa on the side.

For lunch I had some of the new Campbell's light chicken noodle soup, home made tortilla chips, some coconut curry tofu and a couple of clementines.

I'm taking a protein meal replacement drink, some green beans with laughing cow cheese, a little leftover salmon and a fibre one bar. Can't wait for this day to be over so I can climb back into bed!
My go to snack for today is some more jerky!

A quiet night!

So now I've got the aching body happening! Ugh I can't stand being sick, and worse tomorrow I'm back to work :(

I had planned for a snack today so i had some natural almonds and some free beef jerkey that i got in the mail! It was soooooooooo good :)

I really wanted to get my omega 3's in this week so for dinner tonight we had Salmon, rice and some chopped veggies. Dessert was greek yoghurt with raspberries and sugar free chocolate sauce.

Now I'm going to bundle up and sit in front of the t.v. Hope your having a happy, healthy day!!

I can still go for a walk :)

Today I started my day with eggs and turkey sausages :) Then I convinced the hubs that although I`m sick and I don`t want to give anyone else my germs its perfectly acceptable that I go for a walk :)

I made sure that lunch gave me a boost of energy for my walk. Green monster: almond breeze, banana, baby spinach and sweetener. KerryGold special reserve Dubliner cheese, veggies and a granola bar!

The walk turned out harder than I thought it would be! First I guess I'm sick and I just don't have much energy but also because of the slushy snow and ice. I had to laugh when a bicyclist went passed us at about the same speed as we were walking. He yelled out he knew he was crazy :)

Saw this woodpecker but he was quite far away :(

Question day!

I'm going to ask some questions that you suggested last week :)

1. From Shane: When you workout do you find starting the workout a struggle but do you start to feel better as your workout progresses??

2. From Terri: For those who used to have an addiction to sugar... how did you conquer the addiction. I have such a huge sweet tooth and i'm working at it but i find it is so difficult. sugar is in everything!

3. From Karen: What is your favourite colour??

4. From Christie: For people who are focused on losing weight... I would like to know do you tend to have a harder time staying on plan after you have had good days??

5. From Geosomin: What is your favourite healthy snack??

6. From Ellie:  What is your favourite way to get  your cardio in??

7. From Christel: What are your lower calorie sweet treats??

8. From Jesuiseval: How tall are you and would you consider your shape an apple, a pear, hourglass etc??

9. From me :) What are you doing to help you stay healthy this week??

Reader's Digest would like to congratulate Spunky Suzi's blog and her progress towards living a healthier lifestyle. After reading this post, we'd like to answer question number 9. We're measuring our BMI this week. What about you?

Sniffle, sniffle......being sick sucks!

Yes when I woke up this morning I definitely knew I'd caught some kind of bug :(

So I did what I usually do when sick, I made a bowl of oatmeal! I added flax seed, an egg white and blueberries.

Good job I had oats since it was a long time till lunch! Tomatoes, shrimp, crackers, goat cheese, sour cherry almond compote and some yogurt, walnuts and honey :)

Tomorrow I was going to help with an Easter Craft Afternoon, but I don't want to give anyone my germs so I think I'll stay home and get caught up with my house cleaning. Exciting I tell ya!

We were going to have our first bbq tonight however it's still really cold out so we put that on the back burner for later this month. It's really sunny though and if I could muster up any energy I'd go for a walk but honestly I don't see that happening any time today. I did however, manage to get some stretching in.

So tonights dinner was easy to put together! A pre-cooked turkey breast with gravy and some roasted potatoes and carrots. At least I'm not sick enough to affect my appetite :)

Exercised, stretched and now I'm a couch potato

That's right! I ended up walking for 55 minutes today, I managed to do 4 downward dogs and some inner thigh stretches :) Oh almost forgot I managed many finger stretches as well. Hey it all counts.

For dinner I made some Presidents Choice Blue Menu Scottish haddock with roasted green beans, shallots and carrots tossed in red pepper jelly that my Jen and Martin made. Delicious.

And now I'm going to relax with my ricola's :( Yes I've got a bit of a cough, just hoping it doesn't get any worse.

Exercising the hands and the fingers :)

Yes this morning I'll be sitting on my butt but I'll be exercising my hands :)  How?? Well I'm going to be helping to stuff over 450 envelopes with a newsletter that I help to produce!! Fun, fun, fun

Usually half way through the stuffing they order pizza so I've already packed some cheese, some almonds, some cherry tomatoes and a pumpkin spice granola bar.

It must be a pumpkin kind of day because I also had a pumpkin spice smoothie for breakfast :) Well that and a strong cup of coffee!!

Since I'll be sitting on my butt most of the day I'm going to get off of the bus super early and get at least a 40 minute walk home. Let's hope I don't freeze :)

I'm still here!!

Oh my this week has been crazy!!

I'm sorry I haven't posted much this weekend but there was some kind of hockey tournament in town and we were crazy busy all weekend. In fact I just got home and all I really want to do is go to bed. I am totally beat!

Probably didn't help that I worked till 10 last night and was back to work at 8 this morning :(

Oh and now I know how to tweet from my phone! Um I might be getting a new addiction! Anyone who want's to tweet I'm spunkysuzi (I know I'm such an original)

But at least my eating has been good. I started today with a banana/coconut protein pancake and topped it with sugar free syrup.

I took some cheese sticks and veggies to work and also ate a carrot/pineapple muffin! (I did something wrong when I made these and they are really dry but I don't want to just throw them away)

Tonight was some whole wheat pasta with shrimp, pasta sauce and parmasean cheese and a glass of wine.

Right now all I can think about is going to go to bed :)

Thanks everyone for joining in my challenge this week. I plan on doing some downward dog before bed.

This weeks challenge!

This weeks challenge is something that I need to do! I think it's something we all roll our eyes at and don't set aside time for!

Any guesses on what it might be??

Stretching!! This weeks challenge is to do some form of stretching everyday this week :)

Are you with me??

Here's a link to show some stretches that might be helpful: stretches

Do you stretch before or after working out? Do you set aside a certain day to stretch instead of working out?

Please don't do any form of exercise that hurts or strains any part of your body. Consult your Dr before attempting anything new.

Calling all fellow challengers :)

Sooooo how did eating a fruit or veggie with every meal go?? I loved this challenge. I love how much colour and taste you add to a meal when you add fruit or veggies :)

I know several of us are pro's at this but for those that aren't how did you do?
Was it hard at first?? Will you continue to do this?
I would love to hear your comments about your weekly challenge.

Tomorrow will be the next challenge!! Are you ready???

Easy dinner tonight :)

But very tasty!  Toasted BLT with turkey bacon and a fat free cheese slice and some Amy's organic tomato soup. I almost forgot the clementine on the side :)

And down I went again!!

The weather didn't look tooooooo bad out so we decided we'd still meet our friend at the all you can eat Chinese buffet.

O.k it was cold and windy and there was quite a bit of snow and ice on the ground.

Got to the restaurant in one piece :) Had two plates of mostly pickled beets, veggies and a bit of shrimp and chicken. Dessert was some fruit and one small dessert square which I had planned on having! Lemon water for my drink.

When we left I was pleasantly full but not stuffed and I'm very happy with my choices :)

Unfortunately when we left the weather was worse :( So off we trudged to the bus stop.  Unfortunately I fell down on the ice but I think the only thing wrong will be a bruise!!

Hope your day is going a lot better than mine!

This was my walk today.......

Notice how white it was???? I loved it and hated it at the same time!

I woke up this morning and contemplated whether I was going to go out into that mess. While I was having my pina colada I decided that since I'm going to an all you can eat Chinese buffet for lunch it would be a good idea to get some exercise in first. Oh and it was pina colada oats :) I'm not a lush you know!!  Oats, chopped fresh pineapple, egg white stirred in the end to give it volume and a dob of coconut butter on top. Oh my........

After I got home I made myself a cup of coffee (anyone try that Tribute coffee from Starbucks, it's good) and planned what foods I was going to choose at the buffet. I have a plan folks.

I will post pictures of what I choose for lunch to keep me accountable.

What is funny is that as I'm typing this post the hubs comes up and says "you know you really love snow?" I said why and he answered I don't see anyone else getting this excited about going out for a walk in it :)

Have a great day.

Question Day :)

Have fun with these and enjoy everyone's answers!

1. Do you still have snow where you are?? Or did you ever have any this year??

2. Do you stretch before/after working out? Or do you have a stretching routine that you do weekly??

3. What tips do you have to save money while trying to eat healthy??

4. What is your biggest challenge today??

5. Is there any question you'd like to see me ask on question day??

That's right we had hamburgers tonight and on the side I had roasted brussels sprouts with olive oil, light parmesan cheese and bacon crumbles. And since I was low in points today I'm having 2 light beers!!

They're calling for 4 inches of wet snow tonight :( Just when I was looking forward to running shoes on my walk instead of boots!!

Coffee with friends!

The only plan I have today is to go for coffee with friends this afternoon. Oh and a walk this morning :)

Today I made some more of those broccoli cheese egg muffins for breakfast.  I didn't happen to have any shredded cheese so I used a cheese stick!
1/2c egg substitute (you could use eggs or egg whites)
1 slice turkey bacon cooked and chopped up
seasoning salt
cheese stick chopped up
Put into 3 muffin tins and cook on 350 for 15-20 minutes or until puffy and starting to brown

Then it was off on a walk I go! It's actually sunny here today :)

Back home and time to make lunch. PC blue menu diced ham with light mayo, jalepeno peppers and cheese on a ww bagel, veggies and clementines. This was soooooooooooooo good!!

Tonight will be burgers and I'll post later :)
