More therapy!

Started today with some blueberry oats with an egg white stirred in at the end to make them creamy :)

Hopped on a bus to the hospital for another round of therapy. My finger is moving but I can't pull it towards my palm :( I'm getting a bit down thinking it may not get any better.
the therapist said I still have lots of time to see improvement yet :)

Anyway to lift my mood I went shopping for a few yummy things and to look at garmin forerunner heart rate monitors, I'm hoping to get one for my birthday!

While I was out I popped in to see my daughter Jen and of course I had to have a juice. Today I had a big green juice with golden beets instead of the apple :) Yummo

On the way home I stopped at the grocery store to pick up a couple of things for dinner. I love rotisserie chicken for dinner. Cheaper than buying a chicken and cooking it myself.

Busy day!

Started today with some eggs and Canadian bacon and I toasted an English muffin in the toaster oven :) Pretty nice machine!

I cleaned the kitchen today, dyed my hair and went on a walk! Took along some coconut water

It's been a while since I went on a walk with my camera. Too long.

Lunch was awesome today, a bit of this and that :) Veggies, cheese, chili lime tortilla chips and a couple of apricots!
Dinner tonight is going to be a lean blue menu hamburger with onion, tomato, a peach and a glass of wine

Tomorrow it's off to the hospital for more therapy on the finger and some shopping in one of my favourite food stores.

I can have toast again :)

First things first I went grocery shopping  :) I really needed to stock up on some things (which is why we had pizza last night) I spent a fortune on groceries today.

Then I grabbed some carrot juice and a meal replacement protein shake and off we went to the mall for some shopping therapy!

Actually I really needed to buy a toaster oven since my toaster bit the dust. I figured I may as well get a toaster oven because then I may use the big oven less, saving us some money.

My daughter has a friend who is giving away an industrial juicer!! Oh yes I'm definitely looking forward to some raw juices in my future :)

Her boss was sent a lot of steel cut oats by mistake so guess who's going to get some! Moi

Now I'm off to soak my hand in some nice warm water because it's feeling really stiff today :(

Today I'm back in the game!!

Enough sitting around, exercising my middle finger every hour does not burn enough calories :)

I am giving myself a one week challenge.

1. Drink 3 cups of water before breakfast, lunch and dinner and another 3 cups before bed
2. Eat no more than 1300 calories per day
3. Exercise 4 times this week, including running, walking and dance (can't do weights or push ups etc. because of the hand)
4. I will journal my food on my daily nosh blog 

I'm taking back control of the things I can change!!

Today I have a pumpkin theme going on because it was feeling cooler and I have a can of pumpkin :)

3 cups of water
1/3c oats, 1/3c pumpkin, pumpkin pie spice, 1 egg white, 1/8c sugar free maple syrup

3 cups of water
1c almond breeze, 1/3c pumpkin, 1/3c plain yogurt, whey protein, banana, cherry tomatoes

3 cups of water
coconut water
1 slice of pepperoni pizza, cucumber, tomatoes, plain yogurt, tart cherries, 1 Tbsp agave nectar

3 cups of water
glass of wine

Meet George :)

I'm definitely more relaxed about my finger today! Even if I do have to sleep with this guy on :)

Meet George, isn't he adorable! At least I only have to wear him at night

I'm getting back into doing things normally again (like taking a shower :) so it's time I get back to normal with my workouts and my eating.

I'm going to sit down with a paper and pen and make myself some goals and how I want to achieve them.
Exercise will be increased once I can bend my hand for pushups etc and once I'm allowed to lift any kind of weights I'll start back with weight workouts.

A bit of a downer!

I'm so happy I don't have to wear the splint but my hand is going to need a lot more therapy!!
I didn't realize just how bad it still is :(

I'm not allowed to life anything for the next 4 weeks. And then it's back to the Dr.

The finger doesn't bend much and it's still numb at the tip. All this can still improve for the next 5 months but it's a little depressing right now.

Anyway besides the finger things are going well.

Back to work today and since it's pouring rain outside I may as well be at work :)

It wasn't till I posted the pic's that I realized I didn't have any veggies!! Definitely getting some tomorrow

I'm free!!!

Finally the day has come when I can lose this splint :)

Let me start from the beginning.
I was trying to get a pit out of an avocado and the knife slipped and I cut my middle finger. Bad  I thought but not too bad. Well I was wrong, I ended up at the emergency in the hospital and left with this:

Next I had surgery and ended up with 20 stitches but at least I got a better splint :)

Finally I got the stitches out and I couldn't believe how good it looked, but I still needed to wear the splint!!

Today I visited the plastic surgeon and he finally let me lose the splint, even though I have even more exercises to do every hour and I still visit the therapist 2 times a week

I have to admit I making some skinny pina colada's to celebrate :)

Volunteering and joining my walking group

I started today with a protein waffle with blueberry sauce and a cup of tea.

Then I got ready to grab a bus to go to get to my volunteering. I'm actually going to help stuff envelopes.  Well obviously it would be hard with only one hand but I did help to put the stickers on the envelopes :)

After sticking my last sticker on I stopped by Thrive Juice bar to see my daughter Jen! Oh and it was a good excuse to get a raw juice :) Today I chose: Lill red juice i have no idea how many calories and I don't care!!

I also stopped by Vincenzo's to pick up some more bourbon vanilla paste but they didn't have any :( Hope they get more in asap!! But I still managed to spend money on some pink australian salt flakes, coconut water and peppercorns.

Then it was time to meet up with my walking group and get a lot of extra steps in for the day. I can't wait to get a Polar so that I can track distance, calories burned etc. Today I briskly walked for at least 80 minutes.

Last day of work

Tomorrow starts my weekend and I'm going to enjoy it to the fullest!!

No I'm not talking pop and chips and ice cream :)

This weekend will be full of exercise, great tasting healthy food and time with the hubs! (not to mention getting rid of my splint)

I started today with 45 minutes of dancing with Richard Simmons, that man can move! That definitely left me very hoy and sweaty :) Richard and Leslie Sansone have definitely helped me to keep moving even after my accident. Even if they do make me take more one handed showers.

I really enjoyed my brekkie this morning. Cottage cheese blended in the bullet with some lemon extract and sweetener topped with raspberries and a peach. With some scrambled egg and low carb ketchup on the side!

Now I'm off to have a shower, eat lunch and off to work!

Hopefully a better day today!

I mean at work! It was crazy last night so I hope tonight is a little more chill :)

As far as exercise and food went yesterday they were awesome.

Ralph bought me a new wireless hp printer and it was so easy to set up. My last one from there lasted 10 years.

Ordered some goodies online today! More peanut flour, english sf syrup, sf apple cider and sf pina colada mix!  I also ordered a book on amazon.

Back to work :)

I've started to track my food here again!

Today I decided to do some exercises that don't use my arm. I did some squats, leg swings, jumps around the globe, hip extentions and calf raises.
Then I did 45 minutes of aerobics with 2 fans going and I was pouring sweat :)

Doing all that gave me a good appetite so I made a raspberry protein pancake topped with sf syrup. Made it with coconut flour because I had no cottage cheese. I like the cottage cheese ones better!

I can't believe that in one week my printer, my mouse and my toaster died. There had better not be more or I will be a force to be reckoned with!! They don't call me spunky for no reason.

5 more days and I can finally have a shower and use two hands!  I'm also going to dye my hair and just enjoy having my hand back. Still lots of therapy but I honestly don't mind.

Oh and my laptop is finally fixed :)
