Wow, wow, wow!

Getting all my stats ready for my monthly update tomorrow! And all I can say is wow :)

I really do appreciate each and every comment and feedback that I get "hugs" to everyone for helping to keep me motivated!!

Did a 1 mile Leslie walk away the pounds dvd. I'm in a challenge and the challenge this weekend is to add an extra veggie and an extra glass of water as well as 15 minutes of extra exercise. Since the weekends I usually keep low on the exercise it's pretty easy to add 15 minutes in before work.

Today's Nosh

Breakfast: blue menu bran flakes with so nice soy milk and berries. 2 Tbsp kefir and 3 Tbsp so nice coffee creamer

Lunch: 1/2 berry medley muffin, ham roll with cream cheese and jalapeno peppers, Kerrygold reserve cheddar cheese

Took to work: Pure pro shake, fruit container, fibre one bar and some cherry tomatoes

A great day!!

Sun is shining but still pretty cold.

I had a problem with my phone today so not only did I get a walk in before work but I also picked up groceries and had to sort out my phone! Oh I also did an upper body workout :)

Does anyone know what bird this is??

Today's Nosh:

Breakfast: the best brekkie evah :) Banana split: banana, yogurt, strawberries, Nature's Path Aloha granola with pineapple and white chocolate chunks and 1 tbsp of dark chocolate drizzle!! 2 Tbsp kefir and 2 Tbsp of so nice coffee creamer.

Lunch: Ham and cream cheese roll ups with jalapeno peppers, Amy's cream of tomato soup,cucumber and kiwi

For work:
1c cantaloupe, protein drink and cheese stick

My weekend's over!

Back to work today!

I'm in a challenge on Sparkpeople right now and the challenge today was:
50 hip flexors
50 bicep curls
50 step ups
I managed to do all of them!

Today's Nosh:

Breakfast: egg substitute omelet, whole wheat english muffin, sf marmalade, morello cherry jam, 3 slices of pre-cooked bacon and a grapefruit. 2 tbsp kefir and 2 tbsp so nice coffee creamer

Lunch:Veggie container, fruit container, 2 cheese strings, yogurt and salted dark chocolate

Took to work: protein drink, veggie container, fibre 1 bar

Gone shopping!!

Snuffy say's hi :)

Today was definitely a shopping day!

First was a much needed grocery shopping trip.

Then it was off to the mall by bus to get new work shoes and buy more phone time. Yep really stylish non slip shoes.

Back on the bus to the other end of town. I needed to stop by Starbucks to get another reusable coffee tumbler plus they have their Tribute coffee back :) I did get to meet up with my daughter Jen which always makes my day.

Next was a trip to Shopper's Drug mart, I also needed to stop at the health food store for more protein powder. Look what I found!! Nature's Path Love crunch with pineapple , white chocolate and coconut :)

After that was done I needed to pick up some studs for my nose. Yes, I have a nose piercing.

Oh and the battery died in my Garmin heart rate monitor so I had to find somewhere to buy that as well.

Finally I stopped at the LCBO to buy a nice bottle of red wine to go with the steak we're having.

Now??? I'm going to relax with a movie and a glass of wine!

Wow that was an exhausting but fun day :)

Today's nosh:

Breakfast: egg substitute omelet with cheese, 1 cup low sugar oj, 1 slice of toast with 1 tbsp sugar free jam. 2 Tbsp kefir and 2 Tbsp 5% cream for coffee

On the go!!  Veggie container, fruit container, yogurt, fibre one bar

Dinner: Beef tenderloin, baked fries, green beans, 1 tsp oliviano marg, red wine (good for the heart eh!)

I'm just a walking fool!!


I had already planned on getting off of the bus early again today on my way to a board meeting, but then I got an e-mail from the library telling me that they had a book in for me today :) So I squeezed in another walk!!

Ended up walking for over an hour :)

Today's Nosh:
Breakfast: Suzi McMuffin with grapefruit. 2 Tbsp kefir and 2 tbsp 5% cream

Lunch: Veggies, frozen yogurt chips , cheese, crackers and a cup of cafe au lait

At the board meeting: (I don't take pictures there) I ate some salad with dressing on the side, some chicken breast and some fruit :) I didn't have the breaded chicken on a bun! I was totally satisfied with what I ate.

Weekly weigh in!

Today was my weekly weigh in and I lost 2.2 lbs :)

This week I worked out 7 out of 8 days!

My eating has been amazing. I feel slimmer and stronger.

On March 31 I will post a monthly review including weight loss for the month and inches lost (I hope).

Today I did a core workout:
  • crunches
  • crunches with twist
  • bicycle crunch
  • reverse crunch
  • swimming
  • plank
  • back extension
  • stretching
I also got off of the bus early so I could walk for 25 minutes :)

Today's Nosh:
Breakfast: oats with banana, peanut butter, chia seeds and coconut

Lunch: veggies, cheese, frozen yogurt dots, banana dark chocolate lifestyle cookies, grapefruit

Dinner: shepherds pie, broccoli and a bud light :)

Now I'm tired :)

Had a pretty busy shift at work this morning!! So many bagels and donuts :)

After my shift there was a short meeting and finally I was able to get outside and see how beautiful the weather was. So as soon as I got home I popped the sneakers on and off I went on a 3 mile walk. Now?? I'm beat but happy I was able to take advantage of the weather.

Tomorrow I'm volunteering to help people make Easter crafts! I'm hoping to get off of the bus early and walk the rest of the way to get some extra walking in, I've also got a core workout to do before I leave.

It's also my weekly weigh in tomorrow so we'll see how my week went.  At the end of the week I'll do a monthly review.

Things that make me say Wow!

I found a new blog that I've been reading for a couple of days now.

I read her post today and honestly it just made me say wow!!

The post is called what I eat but it wasn't so much what she eats as why she eats it that stood out for me.

Obviously I'm not low carb. I try not to go too over board with them though :) I can't go too high in protein due to my kidneys and gout. But I also can't go too high on carbs or it triggers binge eating. I've also never had weight loss surgery. But this lady and her post have made me think a lot this morning about what and how I eat. In fact I believe it's a message that anyone can use some of the ideas.

Now for the most part I eat pretty healthy. However, every now and then cravings get the better of me and it can start a downhill slide. After reading today's post I have several thoughts on how I can stop that slide when it's just started or hopefully before it starts!

I honestly never thought about eating foods that I don't absolutely love. That perhaps eating foods that taste o.k would be better in the long run.

So I've decided to keep track of how foods make me feel an hour or so after eating them. I really do feel that this might be a great idea. Of course I'll let you know how it's going.

Now I'm off to work at my coffee/donut shop :) And yes I won't be eating any junk food.

Work and exercise!

That pretty much sums up my day today.

First I slept in which I really need some days.

Then I did an upper body workout.

  • Close arm counter pushups
  • Dumbbell hammer curls
  • Bicep curls
  • Tricep extensions
  • Squats (not upper body but no prob)
  • stretches


I read some blogs.

Now I'm getting ready for work! It's Friday so it'll probably be crazy busy today so a slow morning is a good start :)

Today's nosh:
Breakfast: Suzy Mcmuffin, egg substitute, 2 slices bacon, 1 slice of cheese, whole wheat english muffin and a glass of oj

Lunch: Split pea soup, grapes

At work: veggies and a lemon cranberry muffin

Lunch: broccoli and cauliflower with cheese and 1 tsp olive oil, 1c orange juice

At work: vegetable container, fruit container, fibre 1 bar and cheese

Today's nosh and more walking!

Today was another beautiful "almost" summer day! So off on another walk I just had to go. Today is also lower body workout day so I did that as well :) Definitely going to be sore tomorrow!!

Lower body workout:
wall squats
skater squats
lateral lunges
single leg squats with chair
lying single leg raises
stretching

Walked for 50 minutes: Sorry about the no smile but boy was I hot and sweaty!! (the thing in my ears is a wireless mp3)

Today's Nosh:

Breakfast: bran flakes with skim milk, banana, 3g coconut, 3g cocoa nibs and 2Tbsp of kefir, 2 Tbsp 5% cream for coffee.

Lunch: veggie container, fruit container, bodywise tortilla with corned beef, cheese and jalapeno peppers warmed up

Dinner: blue menu Italian lasagna, cauliflower, broccoli and a glass of white wine

Snack: strawberry banana frozen smoothie
