Very interesting!!

I was really looking forward to my fitbit stats when I was at work. Well it turned out better than I thought.

Yesterday I did no exercise before work. I am on my feet all the time at work and yes I do a lot of running around. When I got home MyFitnessPal said I could have eaten 831 more calories if I wanted to! The fitbit stats were pretty good as well. Well except for the flights of stairs because there are not steps at work :) I get more of those in at home. I honestly didn't realize I did so much at work.

Today's nosh: Once again I got up later so I had a good brekkie, a quick lunch before heading off to work!

Breakfast: 1/2c egg substitute scrambled, havarti jalapeno cheese, whole wheat english muffin, 2 Tbsp no sugar jam, 2 Tbsp 5% cream for coffee and 2 Tbsp kefir

Before work: slimfast french vanilla, 1/2 avocado, blueberries

At work: veggies, shaved roast deli beef, havarti jalapeno cheese, baked chocolate chip banana oat muffin

Nothing too exciting going on today

Just a regular work day today!

I haven't had a protein pancake for ages so today I made one with raspberries and a warm blueberry sauce on top. I had some hempseeds in my cupboard that I hadn't used so I put a tbsp of them in the pancake too. It was really tasty!

Since I got up late today I ate breakfast quite late. So I grabbed a slimfast shake and a baked oatmeal muffin on the way out the door to work.

For dinner tonight I'm going to grab a sandwich at work.

I know where are the veggies!!!!! I figure 90% of the time I eat a lot of veggies so having a day now and then when I don't is not a problem. I just didn't feel like them today.

I find I'm that way with salads. I can eat them every day for a few weeks and then I don't want to see one. I am thinking of having a small salad before lunch and dinner to see if it helps to fill me up a bit before I eat lunch and dinner.

I have been drinking lots of water it's not hard to do with the heat wave we're having.

Sunday is Canada Day a statutory holiday here. I'll be working in the morning.

Still having fun!

So far the fitbit is pretty accurate. I didn't feel I slept well last night and sure enough when I checked the fitbit stats this morning it was showing that I awakened 13 times and my sleep efficiency was 2% lower        than the night before :(

We have lots of stairs in the house and that is definitely showing up on the stats. It will be very interesting to see how many steps I take at work.

Today Ralph and I are going to a new to us fish and chip shop for dinner. Being English I love my fish and chips so I was really excited to find out we are going there. However, it also comes with a lot of calories. So my plan for today is to stay on plan, eat a good brekkie (done), a light lunch (I ended up eating some fruit and honestly not being very hungry) and saving most of my calories for dinner!! I definitely can't give up fish and chips forever but I can only have them once in a blue moon.

We also took a trip to the mall. Ralph wanted to look at some electronics and I needed a new bra. Sorry guys but it is what it is! I'm very well endowed so I have to admit I hate shopping for bra's. So today was not a pleasure but a necessary evil :)

While at the mall I decided I could get some major walking in so I grabbed Ralph (lol) and hike around the mall a few times. It's amazing what you see when you do that. Things in stores that I never took notice of before really stood out. Yep flyby shopping is awesome and cheap :)

Downsizing!

Lately I seem to not be focusing on doing what I know I need to do to be healthy.

I've also been spending way too much time on the computer! Don't get me wrong I love blogging and I love reading other blogs but my list of blogs on google reader was way too many to be able to keep up to.  I went through the list for the the last 2 days and deleted those who haven't blogged for a year and those who I really don't connect to. (Some hadn't updated since 2009!) Honestly if I went a day or two without keeping up on my blog reading I would never be able to catch up :( And those I do love to read I wasn't commenting on them very often because I had too many others to read through! Now when I go to check on new blog posts I'm seeing those that I really like reading and it's not taking any where near as long to go through them.

So that's one way I've downsized.

I don't know whether this happens to others trying to live healthier or lose weight but just when I think I know what works for me and I'm doing great I throw a spanner in works. I stop doing what I know makes me feel better and I find myself eating things that are just plain not good for me!!!  And not just food. I find I'm not drinking as much water or exercising as much. I don't know whether I purposely sabotage myself or life just happens but I really have to stop doing this.

So once again I'm taking baby steps towards habits that I know work.

This week?? I'm going to be drinking water before my meals and getting exercise in.

My FitBit should be here today so I think that will give me some added motivation. I'm actually looking forward to it telling me what I do when I sleep. If I haven't told you before I have mild narcolepsy and I'm interested in how many time I waken during the night and how long I actually sleep. In fact that's why I'm getting my daughter one because she's been having a hard time with her sleep as well.

So back to doing what I need to do and part of that is blogging!

Heat wave!

We are definitely in a heat wave here! I did have plans for walking but I'm just going to be taking a rest day.

I'm going to sit in the only air conditioned room and read The 150 Healthiest Comfort Foods on Earth.

On Friday I'm going to send for my Fitbit, I can't wait to start using it. I'm even buying one for my daughters birthday :)

Today's nosh:

Breakfast: rice krispies, skim milk, raspberries, 2 Tbsp kefir and extra skim milk for coffee (no picture)

Lunch: 2 La Toritilla low carb tortillas with light cheddar cheese and lifestyle ham. Sofrito relish on the side. Veggies and light hidden valley ranch dressing and 1c unsweetened apple sauce with cinnamon

Dinner: A pasta dish that I through together quickly! Lean beef, macaroni, roasted peppers and peas :)

Lots and lots of iced green tea, iced coffee and water

I've been spending a lot of time today in my air conditioned living room so I've been catching up on my blog reading.

Wow so many different ideas about how to be healthy. It's mind boggling. Eat meat. Don't eat meat. Count calories. Don't count calories. Carbs are bad. Carbs are good. Fat is good. Fat is bad.

My mind is so confused right now.

I love this!!

Today I've been making iced green tea with a sweetener and a squeeze of lemon! Add a ton of ice, a couple of cranberries and delish :) Tomorrow I will post a picture!

I couldn't last a week!

Yep it's me again I just couldn't stay away from blogging. This week may be hit and miss with posts though.

Today I need to run to the post office to get some stamps and mail a couple of things. Then I went for a tan. It really does help my psoriasis which is getting out of control!

After that a quick lunch and I hopped on a bus to meet my walking group. First I stopped at Starbucks to pick up a double espresso over ice with sugar free mocha shot and a bit of non fat milk. Yummo!!

Ralph has a friend over and they always order Chinese food which I'm definitely going to stay away from!!

Today's nosh:

Breakfast: oats, 1 egg white, 1 Tbsp ground flax seed, blueberries, pecans, 2 Tbsp kefir and 1/2c skim milk for coffees

Lunch: veggies, fruit, yogurt, light ranch, light old cheddar cheese and extra lean deli ham

Dinner: Instead of Chinese food I made some Blue menu mac and cheese with some veg and a banana berry baked oat singles. I substituted fruit for chocolate chips this time :)

I'm also going to have a glass of wine tonight!

A quick update!


Just wanted to let you know that I did managed to get 5 workouts in this week! Today's yoga made the 5th one :)

I don't know whether it's the weather or just so many things going on but I'm going to take a week off of blogging to get things in my head straightened around.

I'm definitely not gone just on a mini vacation!

Thursday!



Yes you can tell I really put a lot of thought into the title today :)

I managed to get in a 2 mile walking DVD yesterday and today I tried my hand at Zumba let's just say I'm glad I was alone!! So this week I've exercised 4 days so far 1 more and I've accomplished my goal for this week.

Back to work today. By the way the slimdown bar I took to work yesterday wasn't the greatest which is just what I wanted. I didn't want one that tasted like a candy bar because my mind tells me that's what it is and I should have more!  It hit the spot and along with the veggies and chicken it was a great meal.

Today's Nosh:

Breakfast: sausage, hashbrown and egg cups, (I did tweak the recipe a bit I put onions in and used egg substitute)blueberries and golden raspberries and a glass of low sugar oj. 2 Tbsp kefir and 1/2c skim milk for coffees

Lunch: Chicken breast with a drizzle of black truffle oil vinaigrette and beet greens. For some reason I just haven't been that hungry at lunch time!

Took to work: muscle milk, salad with light ranch dressing, bacon bits and parmesan cheese

Sorry it's just been busy!

Sorry I didn't post yesterday but I've just been so busy and when I'm not I just wanted some quiet time not involving the computer!

I did get a workout in yesterday so that's 2 so far this week. I'm going to try to get one in today even if it's just a short one. I've got to run to the grocery store and it was supposed to be a day off of work today but I was asked to work for someone so I'm working 2-10 today.

Eating has been good so far this week.

Today's nosh:

Breakfast: Baked blueberry peach oatmeal (this was amazing!), 0% vanilla greek yogurt, 2 Tbsp kefir, skim milk for coffee

Lunch: veggies, orange, chicken breast and a cheese stick (I wasn't that hungry so I took most of it to work with me to eat later)

At work: muscle milk, slimdown bar

Water: I've drank enough so far today that I think I'm turning into a fish :)

I'm just a walking fool!


No time to sleep in this morning!

I needed some help going over some government papers so my friend picked me up early to go over them together before I had a meeting.

So that I wouldn't get hungry while I was out all day I packed my own lunch and ate it while I was out :)

I did stop at Starbucks to pick up an iced americano with sf vanilla and a splash of skim milk. Definitely going to get that again!!

Then I walked through my favourite park before meeting up with my walking group. Altogether I walked an hour and 35 minutes. So day 1 completed towards my 5 day working out goal this week.

Back home to eat dinner! For some reason the meatloaf was really dry but the loaded mashed potato cakes and the broccoli were delish. Recipes don't always work out :(

Today's nosh:

Breakfast: egg, bacon, strawberries, low sugar oj, 2 Tbsp kefir and skim milk for coffee = 8 pts

Took with me: veggies and grapes, pepperoni bites, pizza sauce and lots of water!! = 7 pts

Dinner: meatloaf, loaded mashed potato cakes, broccoli and 1 tsp butter = 9 pts

Now I'm off to relax and I'm going to have a rum and diet cola :) Cheers! = 3 pts

Today is a new day

Last night I succumbed to the new timbits!! Lemon and raspberry. Oh well at least they're out of my system now :) I did journal them and I rarely use weekly points so I'm perfectly o.k using some of them. I really need to work on the way I think of the weekly points. I feel guilty when I use them and I shouldn't they are there to use. If you are doing WW's how do you deal with the weekly points? Or the activity points?

This weekend feels strange for some reason. Maybe because it's pouring rain and maybe it's just after the week I had last week. Anyway.....

So for the last week I've been focusing on journaling my food and I haven't had a problem with that. How did your week go focusing on journaling all of your food??

My focus for this week is going to be to work out for 5 days this week. I'm tired just thinking about it :) Just kidding! Anyone want to join me this week. Doesn't matter what you do to workout just get 5 days in. I'm going to start this on Monday because that's really the beginning of the week for me.

Anyway I'm working today so I need to go hop in the shower.

Today's Nosh:

Breakfast: McSuzi: whole wheat English muffin, egg substitute, slice of light provolone cheese, lettuce, tomato 1 Tbsp light mayo, 2 slices pre-cooked bacon and 1/2c low sugar oj. 2 Tbsp kefir and skim milk for coffee = 10 points

Lunch: Salad, Hidden Valley light ranch, fruit, mocha (k-pod hot choc/coffee with skim milk foam) and an all bran bar = 8 points

Took to work: leftover frozen lasagna, banana = 8 points Yes I count bananas as 1 point otherwise I'd eat them all day!

Total points = 26

Busy day and I haven't even gone to work yet!

I had some major running around to do today!

First we needed groceries. The grocery store is across the road and they used to have grocery carts we could use to take the groceries home and then bring them back. Well the store that had them closed so this morning armed with my recycle bags  I filled 4 bags then took those home, then went back for 4 more bags full of groceries!! Yep I'm doing my weight workout today :)

Then I need to run to the tanning place. When my psoriasis gets bad I go for the light therapy because it really does help to clear it up! I usually tan for the minimum time but it's enough to help!

After I got all the groceries put away it was time to grab something quick for lunch so that I could make this post and then get ready for work.

I have journalled my food for today and I've planned for a glass of wine after work :)

Met Jennifer (my daughter) for a coffee at Starbucks before she had to go to work! Why do I always forget to take a picture of her or my drink!! I had a doppio espresso macchiato with non fat milk. I believe Jen`s was an iced coffee.

When she left for work I walked to another park to get some walking in. It was so hot and I was wearing jeans!! Funny story I'm walking through a path and a chipmunk comes out of the bushes and comes towards me. Keeps coming closer and closer and finally he's right in front of my shoes. I point the camera down to where he is and all I can see is my boobs :) lol!

Anyway I managed to walk for an hour and then grabbed the bus home so I could down a couple of glasses of water :)

Today's nosh:

Breakfast: I made monkey bread muffins I liked them but next time I'll use real maple syrup :) I also had 1/2c low sugar oj, coffee, skim milk for coffee and 2 Tbsp kefir =11 pts

Lunch: Got home and the hubs was hungry so I threw something random together! Egg substitute omelet, pre-cooked bacon, some low fat cheese, roasted peppers and onions on a toasted bun!! It was actually awesome :) I threw some carrots on the side for nutritions sake! =8 pts

Dinner: Leftover lasagna, veggies, dip and some thawed frozen fruit =10 pts
Just realized I ate dinner and didn't take a pic! Oh well :)
