I’m 51!!

But I still feel like I’m 30 Smile

I decided to make today a very laid back day! I did go to the mall to get my free Sephora birthday gift. I also made sure to get my free Starbucks drink. I got the biggest laugh when I was going around the grocery store and someone tapped me on the shoulder and asked if i wanted a free gift. Moi!! Free!! Of course. Turned out it was a sample of toilet paper. Yep I’m not even kidding.

Anyway let’s forget that I’m a year older and get back to normal Winking smile

Ralph decided today was the day to put some Halloween decorations up. Our tree now has some glow in the dark skeletons.

Oh thanks to everyone who left birthday wishes. “hugs”

My favourite time of year!

I do love this time of year. I love seeing all the pumpkin/gingerbread recipes on blogs. The colour of the leaves changing. The smell!

Yesterday when I was at work an order from Epicure was delivered. Oh yeah. I see gingerbread pancakes in my future.

I love trying new recipes and today was a twice baked stuffed sweet potato. Turned out really tasty. I may or may not have sprinkled some of that sea salt on it :)

Back to work I go!

It’s Friday so it’s also a workday. I actually like Fridays because the shift goes by fast. Working with kids is actually quite fun.

I've had a great week this week, I worked hard for it and it was definitely worth it. I’m going to make next week just as good if not better.

Hope you have a great weekend.

Off to Weight Watchers!

You may have realized that I haven’t been to my Weight Watchers meetings the last couple of weeks. Have I given up?? Not a chance!
I’ve had a crazy schedule the last couple of weeks and my meeting is on the other end of town and I take 2 buses plus walk for 20 minutes to get there and another 20 minutes to get back. In the days since I’ve been to my meeting I have switched to doing the simply filling technique. It’s been a really good choice. I’m not hungry, I’m losing and I feel great! This is what I saw on the way to ww's.

So today I went to get weighed in. I’m down 2.3 since the last time I weighed in and I’m very happy with that. I will go back on Tuesday to get weighed in again and stay for a meeting.

Near where I go to Weight Watchers is a store called Tweed & Hickory they have so many different kind of Keurig pods it’s crazy and you can mix and match your own 24 pack which is what I did today. Just had a Jamaica Me Crazy pod by Wolfgang Puck and it was amazing!! Can’t wait to try the others.

After weighing in I met my daughter Jen for a coffee at Honey Bake Shop. Oh my goodness they have amazing cupcakes, and that’s just looking at them! I haven’t tried one yet. I did however buy Ralph a strawberry cream one.
I managed to get lots of water in by drinking my iced herbal teas.
I had a major NSV this week. A pair of jeans that I bought a few weeks ago I can now take off without undoing them!!!! Not that I'm going to or anything :)

Today’s nosh:

Breakfast: 1 egg, home made apple turkey sausage, light whole wheat bread, 5% cream for coffee 1pp

Lunch on the go: veggies, ham, cheese, fruit 0pp

Dinner: whole wheat pasta, spaghetti sauce, parmesan cheese 5pp
Now I'm off to relax.

What a fun day!

Today we went back to the mall to go shopping and actually buy some things!

Yes Ralph got his watch plus a movie. I picked out some clothes and snagged a new purse with a matching change purse. I’m a happy camper! Happy birthday to us. Our birthdays are 5 days apart so we always celebrate them together. It doesn't look too much like it but it's a beautiful burgundy colour! I painted my nails to match.

While we were at the mall I had a fat free cappuccino. I also took my lunch rather than eat at the food court!

After all that fun I needed to go grocery shopping. Wow we definitely needed a lot of stuff.

One of the things I picked up while out was some extra strength oil of oregano capsules which I’ve been told will be a big help in fighting off bronchitis this year. I really hope it works. I get it every year and it sure knocks me for a loop.

Today’s nosh:

Breakfast: quinoa with almond breeze, banana and cocoa. 5% cream for coffee 1pp

Lunch: veggies, light cheddar cheese, fruit and chicken 0pp Those are the biggest blackberries I've ever seen.

At the mall: fat free cappuccino 0pp

Dinner: Cesear salad with home made dressing and chicken 2pp

Red wine: 7pp

I don’t know what but I will choose wisely

Tonight I have a meeting to attend where they will be serving dinner. No idea what they will be serving but I have no doubt there will be healthy options and I can choose wisely. I’ll update later on what I chose.
I really needed to get some house work done this morning so I did that instead of getting out for a walk. I still got my steps in by getting off of the bus super early and getting   minutes of walking in!

Today’s Nosh:

Breakfast:  Omelet with light cheddar cheese, light whole wheat toast, 1 tsp light margarine, 5% cream for coffee 2pp

Lunch: 1c cooked red quinoa, chicken, veggies, pineapple and yogurt 0pp

Dinner: I was a little disappointed with what was offered at the meeting. There was a beautiful salad that I had 2 huge servings of :) There was a balsamic vinaigrette that I had maybe a tsp on each plate of salad. There were some warm wraps but no one knew what was in them so I decided not to go there. 0pp spent eating out!!

After yesterdays excitement I ended up having to go to bed at 9!! I was sooooo tired. I ended up sleeping for 10 hours.

Today is normally the day I meet my walking group I decided instead to go to the mall with Ralph. My birthday is Sunday and his birthday is 5 days after mine. I wanted to see what watches he liked. Oh and it didn’t hurt that I found a purse I liked. I also found a store that sells “short” pants. I definitely need a pair of those.
I came home to have lunch instead of hitting the food court. Some warmed up soup with yogurt and fruit. Then I decided I needed to get some more walking in so I went off to the woods!

Today’s nosh:

Breakfast: Suzi McMuffin! Whole wheat english muffin, 1/4c egg substitute, fat free cheese slice, canadian bacon and a couple of plums. 5% cream for coffee 1pp

Lunch: Leftover Italian wedding soup, orange, yogurt 2pp

Snack after my walk: plums 0pp

Dinner: Leftover best ever lasagna, mushrooms, spinach, cherry tomatoes, onion and zuchinni, olive oil and balsamic vinegar dressing 2pp

I’m so glad that I did it!

I was waffling a bit on doing the 5K walking race today. Actually I was a volunteer sweeper for the 5K because I worked on my feet for 8 hours until 10pm last night and my right foot was aching already. I really didn't want to re-injure myself. It was also supposed to rain and it was only 4 Celsius or 39 Fahrenheit this morning. It was flipping cold!!
 Sad smile
But then I got up, saw that the street was dry and I just had to do it. Didn’t hurt that when I peaked at the scale this morning it was showing a new low number!

I had a blast!!! Because we were the sweepers at the back of the 5K walkers we got to cheer on the 10k and 21k walkers with clappers. So Much Fun. I can’t wait to do this every year.
This was my favourite policeman waving his pom poms!

Something funny happened today. I was in the grocery store and one of the items I wanted to pick up was some 5% cream for my coffee. I count the points for it and it really is one of the things I like to use. So I'm in the dairy section and I'm ready to grab the 5% cream when I see this:
50% off!! Then I looked at the ingredients and decided that this could end up being a trigger for more sugar so I just grabbed what I usually buy and I'm happy. So far this is what has been happening since I started the simply filling with ww's. It really does make me look at what I'm eating.

Today’s nosh:

Breakfast for champions!! 1 egg, 2 slices canadian bacon, warmed petite pumpkin scone, home made pumpkin butter an orange and some 5% cream for coffee 2pp

Lunch: banana, plums, carrots, cucumber, lean ham, tomatoes and that chocolaty bowl of awesomeness is cottage cheese put in my bullet with some sweetener and dark cocoa. 0pp

Dinner: Italian wedding soup, they had very lean ground chicken on sale so I used that instead of turkey, 2 slices of light whole wheat bread with some olive oil and garlic 2pp Hubs and I both loved this soup the meatballs are amazing!

A big glass of wine for a job well done!! 9pp
