Halloween and Chinese buffet!

Happy Halloween

That's right today I'm not only dealing with Halloween but also a Chinese buffet.

That’s o.k I have a plan. I’ve been to the same Chinese buffet many times and I’ve figured out what works for me. My plate had lots of veggies, some shrimp and some chicken with no sauce or skin. I had 1/2 a small bowl of hot and sour soup. My second very small plate had fruit on it. That’s it. I enjoyed it all and I’m satisfied and I never leave with any guilty feelings. Pictures below.

I also had to walk a bit to get to the restaurant and on the way home I got off of the bus early and did W1D2 of the C25K. It was pouring the whole time :(

I had so much fun doing the dishes today. That's right. I said it. I can only do dishes if I'm listening to music. This morning Ralph was still in bed so I was doing dishes with the sound pumped up and every time I heard a zumba song I'd dance and every time I heard Pink I was singing. O.k I was singing with all of the songs :) You should have seen my Gangnam dance. O.k maybe it was a good job you didn't.

I have no idea why I'm in such a great frame of mind today. Or maybe it was from all the vitamins in that awesome fresh juice yesterday!

Rant for today:
I was reading a blog (sorry can't remember which one doesn't really matter) today where the blogger said well you know you're going to have a least one of the treats you're handing out. Right after reading that I just kept reading other blogs. But the statement just kept coming back to me. Now I have absolutely no problem with anyone who wants to eat some of their treats if that's what they want to do. I do have a problem with someone saying yes you are going to eat the treats your giving out. No I am not going to have any because I know that one small treat will lead to many many more and that is not how I want to remember this Halloween! I'm also skipping by all the unhealthy "healthy" Halloween treat recipes online. Yes they may be really tasty and o.k for some people but for me they just turned that switch on that I want left off. It honestly doesn't bother me what other people do I just don't like them to presume what I will do. O.k end of rant :)

Today’s nosh:

Breakfast: 1 egg, Canadian bacon and a pumpkin scone (no sugar, no flour), 1 tsp sugar free strawberry jam 0pp

Lunch: 0pp

Dinner: a bowl of leftover Italian wedding soup and a small whole wheat bun 0pp

I'm going to have a glass of wine after the trick or treaters have been. 4pp

Weekly weigh in

Well it was a bit windy but no rain when I got up this morning so I decided I would go to my weigh in. I may have looked a bit strange all bundled up when I went out but I really didn’t care!

I ended up listening to my C25K app on my phone and did the Week 1 Day 2 on the way to the meeting.

After the meeting it poured so I got soaked. Never mind I stopped at Starbucks to have a coffee with Jen. I love that we get together most weeks.

These guys were actually swimming against the stream and having a blast.

At weigh in today I was down –1.9 . I’ll take that. Any time.

I also stopped at the store I usually buy my k-pods from and got a great deal, 24 mandarin spice herbal tea pods fro $6.60. I see quite a few iced teas in my future. I also found a 5 calorie apple cider pod. Yep little things that make me smile.

When I finally got home I made some fresh juice and added some Amazing Grass Green Superfood. It has wheat grass, barley grass, alfalfa, spirulina, spinach, broccoli, chlorella, maca, carrot……and more! On top of the juice I made Winking smilejust call me super woman!!

Today’s nosh:

Breakfast: 1/2c egg scrambled, 1 slice light bread toasted, 1 tsp sugar free jam and almond breeze for coffee 0pp

My weight watchers meeting is at 12:15 so I usually take something small to eat there because I don’t get home until 2 or so. Today I took 2 apple pie protein muffins 0pp

When I got home I made a fresh juice with beets, carrots, apple and ginger plus I added a packed of Amazing Grass Green Superfood 0pp

Dinner: orange sesame chicken, brown rice, broccoli and a tsp of olive oil 0pp

After dinner: glass of wine 7pp

Rainy, windy and cold!!

Sending safe thoughts and prayers for my friends who are getting the brunt of the storm.

Here the rain is building and it’s pretty yucky but not too bad so far.  It is supposed to get worse tonight and tomorrow. I'm hoping to get to my WW's weigh in tomorrow but I have a lot of walking to get there so I might not make it.

I went to a bowling/pizza party this afternoon but I just volunteered I didn’t eat any pizza!  Mainly because I knew I had Italian wedding soup ready for me when I got home that plus a small whole wheat bun and a Cesear salad and pizza was just not tempting!  I love when I’m feeling this strong eating wise!
I also made sure to eat just before I went.

Today’s nosh:

Breakfast: 2x apple pie protein muffins, Greek yogurt with berries, unsweetened almond breeze for coffee 0pp

Lunch: 1 egg, 2 egg whites scrambled with chopped lean ham, light cheese, 1 tsp olive oil, 1/2 an orange and a kiwi 0pp

Dinner: Italian wedding soup,  whole wheat small dinner roll and cesear salad 3pp

Canadian club and diet cola 4pp

Got to get going!!

Out on a walk, that is Smile

Actually I caught up on my computer stuff, had a great brekkie, an awesome cup o’ java and decided I’d better get my butt out on a walk before the rain comes again today! The hubs came with me. Sweet.

One thing that sucked today: my C25K app was down for some reason so I just used my old go to and it worked out fine.

We just got back from walking for an hour and then the rain came! Glad I managed to get a workout in.
I WILL NOT FALL!!

For the next couple of days I think I’ll be exercising inside. I have volunteered to help at a bowling/pizza party for people with mental health issues and I love doing it, but this year it’s tomorrow which is when we’re supposed to get the brunt of the storm so I’m not sure whether I’ll be going or not Sad smile. I have to walk to the bus stop and walk a bit to get there so I’m not going if I think I’m going to be swept away in the wind!!  If I don't go then I’ll just get an indoor workout done in the morning. You’ve got to do what you’ve got to do.

Thanks for all the comments on my food choices. You guys rock. Seriously.

Today I had a few things to make. Apple pie protein muffins, petite pumpkin scones, and some pickled green beans. The muffins and scones I make and then freeze so it’s easy to grab them on the go. I'm careful not to make things with sugar or things that would trigger over eating.

Today’s nosh:

Breakfast: 1 egg, 2 egg whites, crumbled turkey apple sausage, 1 slice light toast, 1 tsp sugar free jam, couple of slices of orange and skim milk for coffee 0pp

Lunch: 1 wrap, veggies, lean ham, berries and Greek yogurt 1pp

Dinner: steak medallions with mushrooms, mini red potatoes, 1 tsp oil, broccoli, carrots 0pp

While watching a movie: a glass of wine 7pp

Saturday

I know such an original title Smile

Today I actually slept in a bit. Since I didn’t sleep well yesterday it was really nice.

After work last night I had a banana. I eat dinner quite early at work so I needed something but not too much.

Girl Guide came to the door selling cookies. Bought on but none for me. Left box with the hubs and I know they'll be gone asap!

We are going to get a lot of rain from the storm. Looks like everyday this week I'm going to have to workout inside. For people who are going to be in the path of the storm I'm definitely sending safe wishes.

Today’s nosh:

Breakfast: oats, pumpkin, 1 tbsp pumpkin butter, 1 egg white, skim milk for coffee 1 pp

Lunch: Veggies, dill dip made with greek yogurt, chicken, berries, cake batter protein shake 1pp

Tacking to work: chicken, stir fry veggies, 1 tsp olive oil, teryaki sauce 0pp

Grocery shopping then work!

I can’t believe the weather network shows possible snow flakes for Sunday and Monday!! Yesterday was 23 Celsius or 73 Farenheit. Sure wish we’d get a few more of those days.

This morning I had a big grocery shopping list. I also had a new water bottle on my list. I chose this one because it keeps cold drinks cold for 12 hours. I’m always throwing water bottles in my bag or taking them on walks and there’s nothing worse on a warm day than stopping to take a drink and drinking hot water Sad smileI liked the ones at Starbucks because they were glass but so heavy and not insulated.

Look at all the carrots! 10 lbs I'll use them all I'm back to juicing.

Yesterday I made a hair appointment at a pretty fancy hair salon. I’m kind of nervous. Not sure what I want. I think I'll keep it shoulder length. My daughter Jen has 2 gift cards for two different salons so she’s going to use one and I’m using the other one. It will be interesting for sure. I hope she'll be able to come with me.

As you probably know we don't have a car so everywhere we go is either by walking, biking or bus. Well yesterday an email came from the library that there were 3 books waiting to be picked up. So off Ralph went on his bike with his back pack. Oh my they were really big and really heavy. Poor Ralph!! One of my pet peeves is that when you order books you can get them 4 months later and they all come at once. One a month would be good :)

Now I need to go get ready for work. Hope you’re having a great day.

Thank you for all your comments. I honestly wasn’t sure what you thought about taking the weekends off. Seems the consensus is for me not to worry about it. Do what I enjoy doing. Sounds great to me!

I’ve decided not to take pictures of food for a few days for a break but I will be back at it soon. It is nice to take time off!

So today was my first C25K mp3 workout. Just for the record I have kind of wonky knees and ankles. Some times they’re great and some times not so much. So I decided for the first time instead of running I was going to do power walking. Believe you me it was still a major workout SmileI loved it!! (I only took pic's when the slower walking was playing :)

On Monday I went to do some volunteering with pumpkin carving. It was a great success. A lot of the people said they hadn’t carved a pumpkin since they were little and they had a blast. Unfortunately almost all the pictures were of them holding their pumpkins proudly and I won’t put any of their pictures on here without their permission.

Yesterday and this morning were miserable, rainy and cold. Not my favourite weather. I did have a board meeting yesterday afternoon that I needed to go to but other than that I admit I was a slug Winking smileOh well it just means I must work harder for the rest of the week.

Today’s nosh:

Breakfast: pumpkin pancakes made with oat flour (just put oats in blend and blend until flour consistency), an egg, skim milk, baking powder, cinnamon and pumpkin. Topped with sugar free syrup. Skim milk for tea. 1pp

Lunch: cucumber, cherry tomatoes, green pepper, celery, light cheddar cheese, dill dip (made with greek yogurt) and an orange

Dinner: Manwiches made with meatless crumbles on a light whole wheat bun, salad and light dressing 2pp
